Saturday, November 17th, 11am - 1pm: Live music from Glasgow’s Starry Skies & "Anything For A Hit" author Dorothy Carvello
Michael welcomes Scottish music makers Starry Skies for an unplugged performance of songs from their new lp “Be Kind,” and Michael chats with Dorothy Carvello about her new book “Anything for a Hit: An A&R Woman’s Story of Surviving the Music Industry” which details the her rise from being secretary to Atlantic Records president Ahmet Ertegun, to becoming the first female A&R executive at Atlantic, and the years of rampant sexual harassment she was subject to and horrible behavior she was witness to in the male dominated industry.

Saturday, December 1st, 11am - 1pm: Michael welcomes background singer extraordinaire Ron Hicklin
In the 1960’s & ‘70s when the L.A. studio scene was at its most prolific The Ron Hicklin singers were the go to group for background vocals, adding their unique blend to countless session including TV themes “Batman” and “Love American Style,” jingles ("Kawasaki, let the good times roll" & McDonalds’’ “You Deserve A Break Today”) and hit records from Gary Lewis, The Partridge Family & The Monkees and hundreds more. Tune in to find out the story behind one of the world’s most heard voices.

Saturday, December 15th, 11am - 1pm: Mack Hayes of The Countdown 5
Michael welcomes Mack Hayes of The Countdown 5 the Galveston Beach band who honed their sound playing five upbeat hours a day to drunken frat boys while avoiding ass kickings from Texans suspicious of their hair and far out clothes. They created a huge regional following, but never cracked the national charts. We’ll delve into the history of this fascinating band and the mid '60s college party crowd Texas scene.

Saturday, January 5th, 2019, 11am - 1pm: Michael welcomes Dennis Diken of The Smithereens
Dennis Diken drops by the studio to spin some records and talk about the history and the future of The Smithereens. The band formed in Carteret, New Jersey in 1980 and is still going strong despite the passing of lead singer Pat DiNizio in December of 2017. We’ll hear tales of the road, recording in The Capitol Records tower, the making of MTV videos and the band’s upcoming plans.
