When I was growing up in Atlanta, the radio station 96 Rock had a contest where you sent in a themed "perfect album side." Since it was Georgia, they had to make a rule that you couldn't send it in on car parts or perishable food. But I sent one in that used the instruction manual for getting your driving license (included DNC's "Malfunction Junction" and Petty's "Free Falling" because of an illustration of a car flying off a bridge). The prize was $50 in a Turtle's gift coins! That was a pretty great day!

FYI on the Chuck front. The great Euclid Records put out a fantastic LP version of Johnnie Johnson's wonderful Johnnie B Bad LP that had NRBQ, Keith and Crapton on it. It's almost a Steve Ferguson album, but great on every front. Nice pressing and gatefold jacket too!

Saw several shows at the Lone Star in the Village (w/the giant iguana on the roof, don't think they kept it when they moved to the 50s, uptown). I think right after I moved to NYC, I went to see Dr. John & noticed this older guy in a wheelchair in the audience. It wasn't till years later that I realized it was (probably) Doc Pomus.
