Yeah, hi, my name is Baby. Nice to meet you. I'm a huge fan. I saw you in Los Angeles twice. Once at The House of Blues, and once at The Something Something Club. I just wanted to say that to you because I really don't anything else to say. And.. Good morning Baby, and good morning loyal and astute listeners. Baby

I got into a "12 items or less" express line in the supermarket the other day. The lady in front of me had about 30 items on the belt. "Hey lady, you've got more than 12 items there, can't you read?" I asked. No response. She completed her purchase and left the store, leaving behind a large package of toilet paper. I experienced instant "shadenfreude" !

Of course an establishment has to balance not paying for staff that is not busy w/ always having enuff stuff for when it is busy. Then they gotta be trained - & help when there's a line (/full tables) & not stand around, do stuff that can wait, so on.

New store opened a few blocks away. I'd been to a SoCal site and was looking forward to it. Got in line behind three customers. Each of the three registers had the same situation. No progress for 1...2...3...5 minutes or so, by which I mean NO PROGRESS. Store employees chatted among themselves, stared into space, utterly oblivious of growing lines. I bailed. Went to the website to complain, and got a reply phone call from the store manager. He wanted more details to use the circumstance as a "teaching opportunity" for his new crew. All better.

Wow, that Dion song was great....had no idea who it was. I don't mind hearing details about recordings, but Schwartz sounds like he's about to fall asleep most of the time. Seriously, he pauses so often it's like listening to an audio version of Harold Pinter. More than once, we've shouted "wake up!" at the radio. Plus, he lives in his own little world...a few years ago, he played a Nilsson track, and wondered, on the air, whatever happened to him. (No research staff, I guess.)
