Try working out. Mine disappears completely with 30 minutes of cardio. The pitch becomes a deep hum. That is if it isn't true inner ear damage.

Michael - yes, verrry loud LP playing through headphones probably degraded my hearing over time as a youth. I don't use headphones much these days.

That hits close to home, it was the worst when i first noticed it, then I learned to live with it. But still when it gets bad, usally after some stressful event, the cardio definitely shifts the pitch way down to something pleasant. I will be wearing plugs when I see the stones this fall.
