I remember my dad playing this on a 78 when I was a kid, and him shouting along. Of course, I didn't understand the double-entendre.

I have all his 78s. I wonder if I have it. 78s do get broken, especially with kids around.

"The Rain, the Park & Other Things" is a pop song with music and lyrics co-written by Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff. It was recorded by the pop band the Cowsills, and included on their 1967 self-titled debut album. Released as a single, the song reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts.[1] It was kept from the No. 1 spot by "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees.[2]

I first encountered Bickfahd's when moving back up this way in 1997. I think they must have taken over all the New England HoJo's locations.

Then they made a stab at going a little upscale in the mid-00s and got overextended.

I make excellent cornbread. Southern style, no sugar, from my grandmaw's recipe. My family will not touch it.

Three parts corn meal
One part white flour
teaspoon of salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder
3-4 eggs and a bunch of melted butter
enough milk to make it very soupy
it's very forgiving measuring wise. Really the key is just a good skillet that you MUST heat in the oven until very hot. Then pour the goop in and bake on 375 until it's good and brown.
