Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

  6:16pm

  6:17pm

  6:17pm
trolly mctrollerson:

  6:18pm
sfrances:

C/Karl in the house!
  6:22pm
David from Owing Mills, MD:

I don't recall mention of my current locale in War of the Worlds, but Clay's remarkable perception/reception of the universe's carrier wave must have tickled his intuition: my home town of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania WAS mentioned in the original radio script.
  6:22pm
Dave in PA:

what can this aural assault be?
  6:26pm
sfrances:

Well put, Matt! The Dusty Show & Clay Pigeon gave me hope at a time when I had none.
  6:26pm
Minnesota Jeff:

Cut and Shoot is north of Houston.
  6:26pm
david:

who knew? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cut_and_Shoot,_Texas
  6:27pm
Matt from Springfield:

Buck Futt??! That's just askin' for trouble, on the public airwaves!!
  6:28pm
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, Cut and Shoot, Texas. You can pass through on the way to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.
  6:29pm
Matt from Springfield:

There is *Strength* through failure...
  6:29pm
Matt from Springfield:

The Triumvirate, after all is a "Dark, Dusty Failure"!! ;D
  6:30pm
Caryn:

I love that it's Cut AND Shoot, not Cut OR Shoot. Like one isn't enough. You gotta do both. Very Texan.
  6:31pm
Matt from Springfield:

Elvis-style "How Great Thou Art"--!

@Caryn: It's also the Tennessee Mountain point-of-view: "If you're gonna have one, might as well have two"! :)
  6:34pm
Caryn:

@Matt: It's also interesting that it's in that order. It's not "I shot it from far away, and then got close and slit its' throat to put it out of its' misery". Oh no, it's "I cut it up and when it was lying there half-dead, I shot it a couple of times". The order speaks of overkill.
  6:38pm
Dave in PA:

it's Saylorsburg!
  6:39pm
Matt from Springfield:

Sayl On, Sayl On, Saylorsburg!

I'll be sure to send feedback on the Soft Rock classics--Clay's bonus discs have been great!
  6:39pm
Matt from Springfield:

Woooo! Greg in Herndon!
  6:40pm

  6:40pm
Danne D:

@kata: Always tough to pace your pledging :)

Julie now apparently has given up sleep for the duration of the marathon...
  6:41pm
glenn:

meh. truth or consequences. whatever cut and shoot.
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is an archaeological site known around the world as a remarkable testimony of prehistoric life. The Jump bears witness to a custom practiced by native people of the North American plains for nearly 6,000 years.
Due to their excellent understanding of topography and bison behavior, native people killed bison by chasing them over a precipice. They then carved up the carcasses in the camp set up below the cliffs.
  6:43pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Danne! As an adopter (of Amanda), I'll carry over my policy and thank you for it! Thanks Danne! :)
  6:44pm
Matt from Springfield:

Clay's show IS brilliant--NO ONE else is covering Occupy with his depth and consideration. NO ONE else is doing Twilight Zone-style radio plays. And Zebra LPs?? I know NO ONE else is playing that!
  6:45pm
Danne D:

Thank you for your support Matt :)
  6:45pm
Dave in PA:

Baboons kidnap and raise feral dogs as pets?

  6:46pm
Matt from Springfield:

I had to get out a clove cigarette to smoke that night, I was already drinking and the frequent mentions of "toking" made me want to light up and watch the drizzle outside my house!
  6:46pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Danne: And to you for yours!
  6:49pm
Matt from Springfield:

  6:56pm
Matt from Springfield:

And, as Laura L. and the BBC show Mongrels point out:
It's CHAMPING at the bit! It comes from an old horse racing term. Much like, "raring to go".
  6:56pm
Walt Jr.:

Look, dad! We, we almost have 100%
  6:56pm
Danne D:
