the episode with Huun-Huur-Tu and Diamanda was the best. The part where they accidentally knock Paul Williams overboard while Ruth Buzzi and Ken Berry look on in horror is priceless!

I wonder if Brooklyn Pirate Watch has reported the Flatbush pirate station that interferes with WFMU?

Good music Dan Bodah

@Dan@7:38, do you mean 90.9 "Radyo Independans?" Brooklyn Pirate Watch has tweeted about R.I. several times. Love how they can't get the aspect ratio right w/any of their site's photos:

It's a lot... For you, maybe.

Avatar 7:49pm

90.9 seems to be a popular frequency for interference-causing Haitian pirates. There's also one somewhere in the greater Elizabeth, NJ area. At the top of the hill in Sunset Park, sometimes you can pick up both of them.

Ken From Hyde Park:

Oddly, the 90.1 signal in my area was very good today. Usually, the signal fades out in some spots on my commute, but came in well today.
Avatar 7:51pm
Ĩkє:

And at 91.3, flanking FMU on the other side, there's an English-language religious pirate in southern Brooklyn. Unlike many of the others, it's on the air 24/7-ish.
  7:53pm
Listener Robert:

Here in the Bronx, I haven't surveyed in a few yrs., but 91.3's was the major problem, & a couple of locations on 91.1 had been so intermittently back in the 20th C.
  7:54pm
Listener Robert:

Dan, even try to hit overtones yourself? I achieved a little bit of that about 25 yrs. ago when I was trying w a bunch of New Agers (or old age hippies) in a living room.
Avatar 7:55pm
Ĩkє:

Anyone getting interference to WFMU from a pirate should report it here:
transition.fcc.gov...
You don't need to fill in every detail, just what you know. If you notice it's on at certain hours and not others, note that. Many pirates don't operate M-F 9-5 or so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm
Dan Bodah:

@Listener Robert, I have managed once or twice with the overtones. I'm thinking I might need to take up yodeling though...
  7:56pm
Listener Robert:

Great, Dan, hope you're either serious or seriously kidding. Enjoy either way.
