This alerted him to the way that recorded sound can effectively merge with the environment in which it's played, appealing to "many levels of listening attention without enforcing one in particular." "Discreet Music" was a direct outgrowth of this epiphany, released the same year as his accident. / Eno recommended that it be played over hospital speakers to create an environment soothing to patients and he has been told that it has become a popular piece for expecting mothers. / "Thumbelina" was written by Hans Christian Andersen & first published by C. Straight outta the sonata blocks as per, Carol. Am reading Kraftwerk: Future Music from Germany by Uwe Schütte which is quite, hmm, german. Hey, that's always a bad thing! It is solid and sober and careful, but still a tad light on depth, which you'd think might fit the band's own way of doing things / making music, but it doesn't quite bring it off. Informative though.
