...(etc)
it's a choice made, to forfeit creativity and individualism for the almighty dollar.

I think we watch the same TV show when they brought Bowie out in some kind of a tall bucket. My father asked, what's wrong with him.

i knew someone who grew crystals for bell labs in the 80s (berkley heights?) she and one other person grew them perfectly, apparently, and despite papers and demonstrations no one else seemed to be able to do it. she's got some published works on it.
she quit after one too many toluene accidents to work in a florist shop. i don't know if anyone ever learned the crystal secret.

Carol - Thanks for the music. This ancient Scots music, etc! / Deciphering photographs is fun. We often try to specify the place of photos on some other WFMU shows.

I recall watching that 1979 Bowie SNL perf and being mystified by it. (as a 14 /15 year old). Many weren’t up to speed with the newer oddness of his artsy ways. Final phase of the great experiments. Each of the performances were so weird, but oddly thrilling.
I’ve always had a fondness & bond to his “Lodger” album - a formative touch stone that.
