@ Gaylord -- ha ha! right? or at least they had some cool places to go, cool stuff to do :)
and i was really really hoping that my brain was messing with me, but apparently not: "After appearing as guests on the Sonny & Cher show in early 1974, a producer for CBS was impressed by the brothers' stage presence and offered them their own variety hour on the network for the summer slot.[6] The Hudson Brothers Show[7] aired Wednesday nights on CBS from July 31, 1974 to August 28, 1974.[8] The show was so successful that CBS devised The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show, which aired on Saturday mornings, from September 7, 1974 to August 30, 1975, in a half-hour format.[8] The group's television exposure accrued the group a heightened level of fame, and resulted in the brothers becoming teen idols."

@ultradamno: Actual headline from that incident — "Hooker Sued in Love Canal Damage"! Around 30 years ago, a friend who grew up nearby the site in WNY took me ona drive through Love Canal, and it was completely desolate, except for one holdout guy flying an American flag from his porch.

@Elle Tor's Husband We set out to cover Flipper but not just copy Flipper. We cleaned up the guitar, cranked the reverb, and let the organ do the heavy lifting. We have a whole set of Flipper covers that we play on occasion. Will probably do a Twitch livesteam at Halloween and do those tunes again. I was a Flipper fanatic in high school...

Elle Tor's Husband:

I was doing security at Flippers first show (79'?) I was back stage and they all had wigs on and threw them off as they roared to life on stage. They all looked like concentration survivors. At the California Hall in the basement club I saw 300 people pogoing ( yes that) to a 20 minute rendition of "Superfreak" good times

So many great SF bands from back then The Lewd, Murder, Code Of Honor, The Avengers ( this is a Shout- Out from and old punk so please bear with me please it's a good memory exercise) when was I? Oh ya... Sleepers, Tuxedo Moon, The Offs, Dead Kennedys, The Mutants, ( what's that nurse? It's time for my bath and apple sauce?) gotta go...
