The first hour of the show is a tribute to one of my first musical heroes, Karl Hendricks. He passed away yesterday at the age of 46. Thanks for listening.

Have a laugh at my expense: having subscribed to my favorite singer's YouTube channel, I just watched an ad for what might be a record. Problem is, it's in Mongolian, and the only thing I can read is a phone number. I had a coworker who knows Mongolian, but he retired last year
Avatar    Sun. 1/22/17 7:41am Sem Chumbo:

@fred: so, no interest in dialing the number and see what comes next?
Also: finished The Intuitionist in short order. Gorgeous writing.

foggy morning to you all. like this downer folk.
Avatar Sun. 1/22/17 7:50am fred:

@Sem: I saw a few Mongol musicians busking near where I work a few days ago. Maybe they'll be around next week. Glad you enjoy Colson Whitehead's writing

Nate, thank you so much for honoring Karl. I bought that Sludgehammer single my college senior year in Pittsburgh, and the Trio slept on my floor when playing Maxwell's and in NYC.
