Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

@Dean: the May Pang of John Lennon fame? She ended up with Tony Visconti?

[checks The Internet]

How 'bout that.
  Fri. 1/8/16 12:45pm Dean:

Not quite "ended up," as I understand things. Death didn't do them part.

Talking of Michael Caine, fancy watching The Ipcress File again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/8/16 12:56pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Fri. 1/8/16 12:57pm V Priceless:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/8/16 12:58pm Brian in UK:

I wanted to see Sonny last time he came over here but the asking price was around £80. Bit steep.
  Fri. 1/8/16 1:04pm Dean:

If only every band were as brazenly honest as Blues Project. "Dazed and Confused" would have been called "Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Shouting Thing."

I think the answer to any question that involves watching a Michael Caine–leading film is "yes."

Never occurred to me how much LWIII sounds like the late Alan Hull, who also had a "Winter Song."

I don't know Alan Hull. I will find out.

I don't think it's just geezer talk to look at the top 100 singles of '66 and be amazed and appreciative of what's there, on its own and compared to what's offered and successful in recent years in the same segment of the bizness. Not all great then, but great variety and some outstanding pop music.
