This is Purling Hiss? Practically Hendrix-like!
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 9:06am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- yes we were discussing #3 on Faye's other night: '(Hey Baby) Land of the New Rising Sun' by Jimi (& maybe some others) - by way of 'Starship Trooper' by Yes (well - more #3 than this one)...

Hello everybody. Are we to the record fair yet? I'm saving up my cash!
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 9:21am Liz Berg:

My pennies are saved! Heading straight to the bank with my change jar before the Record Fair begins on Friday.
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 9:23am mariano:

No!!! Anne Murray! This was one of my mom's faves when I was a kid and she used to listen to it all the time.

i have a severe two boots deficiency that i intend to remedy at the recfair with extreme prejudice. and lots of hot pepper flakes.

Morning. Ah the record fair. Someday...
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 9:25am Mike East:

Saturday is my first day off in two weeks which means I'll have a bit more cash than usual. I plan on heading over there early. Is the record fair an inappropriate place to bring a well behaved one year old (see avatar)?
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 9:30am Liz Berg:

Kids are welcome at the Record Fair. We're screening Miss Pussycat's new puppet movie at 10am on Saturday, there will be a merry-go-round (maybe too advanced for a 1-year-old), and a craft station set up, too.
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 9:31am Mike East:

oh, that's awesome!

quality Shjips song
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 10:58am mariano:

This Shjips song reminds me a lot of something by Martijn De Kleer from Pink Dots. This has a more driving beat though.
  Mon. 11/18/13 10:59am Rob:

Hey! Thanks for the show. I was showing my friend WFMU this morning, and we heard Quintron and Miss P and now Wooden Shjips. I was laughing because I play in a band CAVE, that opened up for both of those bands on our recent US tour RIGHT before visiting this friend. Haha, I love coincidences, thanks!
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:08am kirk from beer city usa:

I'm with Liz on this one. Please get dressed before leaving the house!

Hey Rob - I like your band. Please play in Champaign soon.

I've heard murmurings about this pajama pants infestation but I didn't know it had gotten so bad. Eek. Was this on the L train in Hipsterburg? Hell NO to pajama pants.
  Mon. 11/18/13 11:09am sua:

IS this really the first time you have seen this? I saw a mom wearing pajama pants in Mickey D's yesterday. I guess I should have been expecting that there, but the pajama pants as pants are so prevalent they have been banned from the high school.
  Mon. 11/18/13 11:10am sua:

oh i live in PA - maybe bad fashion slowly trickles into NYC
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:10am tim from champaign:

I'm with you, Liz! That style is too popular on college campuses. My wife even saw a student a few weeks ago wearing pajamas and a blanket while going to class. Not a poncho but a straight up blanket.
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:11am luca:

have seen women in pajamas...in a restaurant...seemingly very much at ease...that was in china though
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:12am Liz Berg:

I've seen pajama pants in public on college campuses, but not on the N train on a Saturday night! These guys were going out to party!
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:12am Carmichael:

Morning Liz and peeps.
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:13am tim from champaign:

Liz, maybe they were going to a pajama party and you're feeling salty because you weren't invited.
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:14am slater:

cumbia!
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:15am ottovonbqe:

I strongly object to pajamas, whether they are worn in the day or at night, in public or at home.
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:15am steve:

i was invited by a coworker to a Saturday night "pajama party" themed party in a public place in Williamsburg a few months ago. so cringeworthy.
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:15am davex:

No sightings of people in pajamas here in Leipzig - yet.
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:16am tim from champaign:

No way, steve. That sounds really grody.
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:17am Carmichael:

Pajama Pants = Lost all will to live.

@Ike: is your avatar the dish you were talking about this weekend with your foodie friends?
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:19am crateslinger:

street corner drug dealers started wearing pj's outside about ten years go. It was gangsta, cuz they got it like that. Yuppies on trains now is just an example of trickle down.
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:21am northguineahills:

Hey, I was wearing pajama pants out 15 years ago. Usually just to the grocery store or to get beer, or to some weird party. Don't think I'd do it in NYC, it seems to dirty, and weird on public transit. Don't mind doing it if I'm just driving my car to the store in non-NYC suburbia.
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:21am northguineahills:

Of course, they had pockets....
Mon. 11/18/13 11:21am david from ks:

,,,The fashion trend of Kurt Cobain continues that began in Japan when he requested a good pair of them for the first concert. Also my late best friend used to wear the cotton flannel kind quite frequently in public. More gin U wine and practical than Hugh Hefners regular attire!
Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:23am steve:

tim, i think it may have been my first ever "im getting to old for this shit" moment... im 30 and im like, im too old to live in a neighborhood where this could foreseeably happen
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:23am northguineahills:

Dug the cumbia.....
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:26am tim from champaign:

Avatar    Mon. 11/18/13 11:37am Ike:

Carm, yeah, current avatar is awesome Iranian rice pudding from Kabob on the Cliff. Also click on my name to see more weekend foods. Didn't get a full shot of grizzled old Armenian dudes grilling meats in the back of a church though, just a pic of the guy's hand waving an improvised aluminum foil fan over the grill.
Avatar Mon. 11/18/13 11:39am northguineahills:

Uggh, if I remember correctly, I sometimes wore them w/ birkenstocks.... at least they were thick flannel, form fitting (but not tight).
