Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:09pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Sorry, I meant Electric Day .. haven't heard Time Code yet.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:10pm the glowing one:

it's a jinx, it's a jinx, it's a jinx
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:11pm Matt from Springfield:

Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:12pm Scott Williams:

God bless Bureau B and all who sail her..
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:13pm Matt from Springfield:

Hallooooo!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:15pm Mike East:

I don't know who William Onyeabor is, but I dig his sound.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:17pm common:

Yep!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:19pm Matt from Springfield:

All right, rockin' the shit out of this roll!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:26pm the glowing one:

say “Fu-Kung” as fast as you can
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:27pm Whosondephone:

OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:28pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I shouldn't love this as much as I do. But goddammit, I do.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:31pm Matt from Springfield:

@glowing: All hail the Fu-Kung.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:39pm Matt from Springfield:

Clay Pigeon is now air drumming wherever he happens to be.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:42pm the glowing one:

is this what people used to call “novelty music”
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:42pm Matt from Springfield:

"V/a, Mr. Toytown Presents... Obscure Psychedelic, Popsyke & Softpop 45s, 1969-1974" ... sounds just up my alley!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:44pm Matt from Springfield:

You've got a note...why do you need another one??

@glowing: What used to be called Novelty is pretty good..I think even great musicians should record Novelty once in a while, to see what comes up.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:47pm Ike:

Vent! Vent! Vent!
  Mon. 11/4/13 3:49pm Pizza Eyes:

This is making me hungry
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:53pm tim from champaign:

Howdy Scott and folks.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:54pm Matt from Springfield:

Howdy tim!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 3:58pm tim from champaign:

Alright! New Lee Ranaldo. Keeps getting better each listen.

Hey Matt from Springfield.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:01pm northguineahills:

yes, tim is correct as per usual....
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:04pm Irene Trudel:

Totally agree, @tim. That particular track by Lee has a nice groove.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:07pm tim from champaign:

I've only been able to listen to the new Lee album straight through once. Each time I hear a song on WFMU I'm able to pick up more of what's going on. Lee's last 2 solo records have been very well crafted, full of nuances and complex. They only get better with age as they say.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:12pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

oooh. neato. dig.
Not aware of this field thing.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:13pm Scott Williams:

Rev, it's a new one. He (Axel Willner) has many fine loopy releases!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:14pm Scott Williams:

The Field was also the soundtrack to an excellent 6am dance party at the Primavera Sound 'FMU tent a few years back. blog.wfmu.org...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Synthy repetition earns instant clicky-star.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:15pm Chris from DC:

Yeah, this is a nice one.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:16pm northguineahills:

The Field, they can't go wrong..... and Rev has the right sentiment....
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:19pm DCE:

yep, my mind needed that
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:21pm DCE:

will anyone mind if I just sit at my desk with closed eyes until 4:43?
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:21pm Matt from Springfield:

Good sound-food for the mind today.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:24pm Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: Go ahead, as long as you open them to comment.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:27pm DCE:

I had a good 5 minute spell of closed-eye sittin' time there...refreshed...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:28pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...holy crap.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:29pm Matt from Springfield:

Rested eyes...and unremembered acid!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:29pm Chris from DC:

Clicky starred previously. Yeah, like that Basic House a lot.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:31pm Faye:

I like this music
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:31pm DCE:

yes, very very good. Faye!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:32pm Scott Williams:

Faye! Welcome back, I like you. Asia do you good?

Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:34pm Matt from Springfield:

Charles Bernstein--Kenny G used to broadcast his spoken pieces. His UPenn website has some on MP3.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:35pm DCE:

oh I bet 99 is gonna be a dooozy
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:35pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Welcome back, Faye! Hope your trip was free of Gamera attacks.
  Mon. 11/4/13 4:36pm bloopy:

holy shit whtf was that
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:36pm doca:

this emphasis on the 90-somethings is a plea for the donation bar at the WFMU homepage to complete the 100%?
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:37pm Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: And 100 is anticlimactic!

UbuWeb! Of course! Many other great tracks available there as well. Of course.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:37pm doca:

Hi, Scott, and hello, Faye! I missed your show live, but I listened to it from the archives yesterday
  Mon. 11/4/13 4:43pm allen:

anyone remember on anal magic a few thanksgivings ago KG playing a thanksgiving theme singalong type song, but like from a mental institution, very very good, would love to find it...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:57pm Mr. Lowry:

I think this is it:

wfmu.org...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Whoa, still the same piece. Great Bianchi!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:58pm northguineahills:

Needs more beeps....
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 4:59pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

What Matt said.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:00pm Matt from Springfield:

Love these old Italian synthsmiths, RTD!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:01pm Matt from Springfield:

Speaking of which, is Kebekelektrik coming up? I've noticed that their "Magic Fly" works QUITE well as background music for news (case in point: with my iPod in one ear and boring news station WTOP in my car--it synched up great! Made WTOP tolerable!)

Might work for WFMU's National Weather Service updates...has a good synth beat and a sense of urgency...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:06pm tim from champaign:

Crap. I live on the eastern edge of the Central Time Zone so that means it's dusk right now at 4:05 cst. Eastern time zone is where it's at.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:10pm northguineahills:

Yeesh, Tim, at least you don't live north of 66.6 degrees north.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:12pm tim from champaign:

Yeah, ngh, land of the midday moon.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:13pm tim from champaign:

Wait-a-minute, is there really a 66.6 degrees north?
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:14pm Matt from Springfield:

Olsen's Standard Book of British Birds--but NOT the gannet, I don't like them. They wet their nests!!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:15pm Matt from Springfield:

@tim: Infinite numbers of latitudes, from 0 to 90°, North and South. A precise measurement will give you 66.666666666°N! :)
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

or "101 Ways to Start A Fight," by an Irish gentleman whose name eludes me at the moment...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:17pm Matt from Springfield:

@north geographer hills: Actually, I can't never remember the value of the Arctic Circle--66 or 67? Looking it up now, it's 66.5622. Think of it as: 66° 33' 44" -- mneumonic of double numbers.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:18pm Matt from Springfield:

@RTD ;D
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:23pm slugluv1313:

FRANCIS!!!!!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:34pm Lewis:

The latitude of the arctic circle is 90 - the angle between Earth's axis of rotation and the plane of the ecliptic (which is the plane in which all planets in our solar system orbit the sun). For quick and dirty that is 90 - 23.5 = 66.5 or 66 degrees 30 min...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:36pm Matt from Springfield:

Dark Afternoon of the Soul
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:38pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Oh, heck yeah.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:39pm Matt from Springfield:

@Lewis: Right you are, the Arctic Circle is always positioned at a 90 degree angle--as a geographer I say latitude to mean the map coordinates (angular measurement from the Equator, regardless of axis tilt at the time).
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- funny you say that Matt - was just thinking how odd to hear this Program in the dark now...get caught up witcha all...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:42pm tim from champaign:

Nice Arthur Russell pick.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:42pm Ike:

This show is really mainlining the zap juice directly to me today. Thanks, S.W.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:43pm Scott Williams:

Aw, thanks Ike! Zap...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:44pm Matt from Springfield:

Hey RRN63. So many shows here go GREAT with the dark, if you give them a chance!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- oh to be sure Matt...just Winter too dark & long hereabouts by about @ least a 1/3rd...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...tell you the truth - I could do w/out the Cold altogether...& they wonder why we ♏Scorps are like this, being born this time of year...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:49pm Serpico:

sorry for the late arrival. how's it going guys?
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I was speaking for the *♏Scorpios*; you'll have to speak for yourself *Serpico*
- & where is Angela today...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:51pm Matt from Springfield:

Going fun, Serpico!

@RRN63: Too dark and cold, but love the middle of autumn, before it gets too wintery out. Btw...HAPPY BDAY (again!)
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:51pm Serpico:

Serpico is different than Scorpios ;)
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:52pm northguineahills:

My favorite A Certain Ratio!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...! - something brutal has happened in your Avatar Serpico...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:53pm Matt from Springfield:

Angela would probably be saying "...But what do I know? I'm just a lady from Harlem" today.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I had my shirt off on my lunch break Saturday !
- that ended quick - but early Nov. !
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:53pm Serpico:

ah YES, john peel sessions are always good.

yes indeed. i was unfortunately run over by an automobile multiple times :(
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- oh!
...I was - uh - looking for a certain ratio...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...yerknow...obviously...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:55pm northguineahills:

bitchin' zounds, Scott! Thanks!
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I know I'm old now Matt - because when they ask me how old I am - they don't say 'HappyBDay' - they say 'Good for you!'...
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:56pm Serpico:

btw any of you chaps following no shave November?
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:57pm Serpico:

i can't because i'm dead :/
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:57pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HOLY CRAP AGAIN.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:58pm northguineahills:

Nope, about to shave tonight. It's been a month since the last shave, and my beard is taking over my neck and face.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:58pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- no shave Nov. ?
...uh...why?
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 5:59pm Serpico:

hah i never figured that out. i guess "no shave" sounds good with November?
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 6:00pm Ike:

I'm not hairy enough for that. I'd just end up in an unsavory in-between state. The uncanny valley of facial hair. Permanent uneven 10:00+ shadow, no thanks.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 6:00pm northguineahills:

It takes about 8 days for me to get a full beard. Wish the top of my head grew as fast.
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 6:01pm Matt from Springfield:

All right Scott!!! Mega-fab show! Thanks!
Have a good evening everyone! (Good for YOU all! ;)
Avatar Mon. 11/4/13 6:01pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

clean-shaven only twice in the last 20ish years. I have no idea what I look like. I suppose that's a problem.
  Tue. 11/5/13 2:33am tAhOmAjOhN:
