You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

DB, have you heard anything from the new album by Body/Head (collaboration between Kim Gordon and Bill Nace). I think you would find it quite interesting.
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 9:28pm steve:

hey there DB

Hi Steebleep! @PB, I pulled the Body/Head CD, we might hear it later in the program tonight. I've been looking forward to that one. Working on getting Patrick and Joshua set up to play over here. They should be up soon.
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 9:38pm duke:

Darn, I missed Lonnie Holley
Avatar Mon. 9/23/13 9:43pm Marmalade Kitty:

Hi Dan. I enjoyed that from Zeena Parkins!

Major sound problems on my computer.
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 10:07pm Uncle Michael:

Are we sure this isn't the music?
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 10:09pm Droll:

New personal musical goal: Get a review with the phrase "Major sound problems".
  Mon. 9/23/13 10:11pm PB:

How embarrassing. Were the last few minutes really supposed to sound like inaudible static? Sounded pretty conventional before that.
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 10:15pm Droll:

. o O ( Like William Shatner: Major... sound... problems.... )
The super-slowdown of Guaraldi's Peanuts Theme is revelatory: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Mon. 9/23/13 10:22pm Dan Bodah:

Lol I always feel a little proud as a DJ when people listening to my show think the station is broken. You weren't alone PB - myself and my sound engineer Dave were also double checking nothing was broken. And another DJ came up to check to make sure we didn't bust the mixing console!
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 10:23pm steve:

damn i just got home... i gotta relisten to that
  Mon. 9/23/13 10:23pm PB:

Thanks DB, that makes me feel a little better!
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 10:28pm Droll:

To elicit "Major Sound Problems" from multiple WFMU listeners who are accustomed to dead air, long periods of records skipping or sitting in the inner groove, C60's full of noise... I think we can all agree Mr. Higgins carries "clout".
     Mon. 9/23/13 10:31pm 12539:

I'm almost embarrassed to say at this point, but I thought my radio was fine and the piece was just sort of dissolving simultaneously into both noise and silence.
Mon. 9/23/13 10:34pm Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Dan and all the listeners.
  Mon. 9/23/13 10:34pm PB:

I'm not saying a word.
Mon. 9/23/13 10:42pm Richard from Venezuela:

This is terrible noise too: http://crucialblast.bandcamp.com/album/-

Thank you, Guests!
  Mon. 9/23/13 11:20pm Tom M.:

Is this that song from Hair?
Avatar Mon. 9/23/13 11:23pm Dan Bodah:

I think so -- "Ain't Got No / I Got Life" comp. James Rado & Gerome Ragni
Avatar Mon. 9/23/13 11:24pm Marmalade Kitty:

I'm glad Body/Head Aint Coming Apart..
Avatar Mon. 9/23/13 11:24pm Dan Bodah:

Yeah, just googled it -- it's a medley from Hair that Nina Simone made famous (and vice versa)

@MK, it's LRH
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 11:30pm Droll:

Tenores de Bitti is a fine example of what good pitch sounded like before auto-tune.
  Mon. 9/23/13 11:34pm Tom M.:

Ralph Records and merch is closing and selling off all the rarities from the Residents archive. Buy or die! was the best slogan of all time.
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 11:44pm Nardo:

Coincidentally, I just saw Gary Panter speak earlier this evening at CCAD in conjunction with an exhibit of his paintings. He did artwork for several Residents album covers.
Avatar Mon. 9/23/13 11:47pm Dan Bodah:

Ah, I did not know Gary Panter did Residents covers! Which records? He did a tshirt for WFMU this past year...
Avatar    Mon. 9/23/13 11:52pm Nardo:

He did this one ~ blog.lightintheattic.net...
     Mon. 9/23/13 11:59pm 12539:

Panter also did a Ralph Records compilation:

Thanks for the show, Dan.
  Tue. 9/24/13 12:00am Alicia Renee:
