I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 12:31pm Carmichael:

Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 12:32pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT?!?!? Until someone engineers a vindaloo cake, I'm not interested. Have we no mad scientists amongst us?

Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 12:49pm chinchilla:

Yes, Bryce's archives are like a Brian Eno CD-ROM full of painting atmospheres
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 12:51pm stefica:

sounds like great painting music, but not great for trying to stay awake in an office. would be great for dozing at home with the cats.

Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 1:07pm Droll:

[studies Bryce's link] Now I get it -- the pointy metallic bra works like a resonator guitar, but in stereo and on singers.
I wonder how I'll look in one...
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:12pm stefica:

thanks, team! sometimes i forget that i am supposed to do more than remain upright and facing the monitor all day.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 1:20pm Bryce:

it's very important to disgruntle
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:21pm DCE:

I guess I'm gruntled today, things are going well
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:22pm Carmichael:

Bryce, this is an actual song with structure and melody and stuff. I'm lost.
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:26pm Sem Chumbo:

And are you gruntled yet? The "dis" of disgruntled is not the same as the "dis" of "dismayed." It means "completely", and so "gruntled," just as it sounds, is an old word that means "grumbling." Today, however, "gruntled" has found its way into dictionaries as a word in its own right. If you look at the origin, you will see that it gives "gruntled" as a back-formation from "disgruntled." People assumed that "disgruntled" was a negative and invented the word "gruntled." www.esmerel.com...
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 1:27pm Bryce:

i feel defrauded
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:33pm common:

nightmare
  Fri. 9/13/13 1:34pm Doug:

Methoughts this was Dufresne
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 1:35pm Droll:

Design is also a back-formation of sign. It meant to scratch off one manufacturer's trademark and sell it as your own. To design is to defraud, which itself is a back-formation of fraud, which originally meant to remove the fraud and make right. That means every design is self-correcting.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 1:36pm Bryce:

now i feel delighted!
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:37pm DCE:

this circular thinking is not helping my hangover
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:37pm DCE:

please, just straight LINES today, people!
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:40pm common:

i'm with you, dce.
  Fri. 9/13/13 1:45pm raga:

i must be on the same mental plane as bryce today. i was listening to Rachmaninoff and George Antheil earlier this morning.
  Fri. 9/13/13 1:46pm Dean:

I call, "Fraud!," @Droll. OED on the verb fraud: "To defraud, cheat, or deceive (a person)." Other uses are similarly negative in tone. There's no hint that fraud ever signified correction of a wrongdoing.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 1:47pm Bryce:

the dean's here! look busy!
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:51pm common:

dean stockwell?
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 1:54pm Droll:

Dean, I'm afraid you don't understand. And once again, we encounter a back-formation, this time of stand, as in "stand on one's soapbox" to make a point. I don't want you to misunderstand me, where misunderstand means the soapbox (read: point) has gone missing.
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 1:57pm DCE:

my head continues to spin
  Fri. 9/13/13 2:00pm Dean:

Droll, Well, of course you're "afraid," which derives from a stem meaning "Apprehensive that one might be caught committing fraud."
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 2:01pm stefica:

have you ever done the station ID in sign language?
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:01pm amEdeo:

Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:02pm Bryce:

  Fri. 9/13/13 2:05pm Col. Bicuspid:

Gruntled rolls of the tongue as I roll out of bed, disappointed it is not led by grunts as is groanled.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:05pm Droll:

Dean, Afrayed knot. You're thinking of "afeared".
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:05pm Bryce:

i have lexical-kinesthetic synesthesia
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 2:06pm Carmichael:

Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:08pm Bryce:

  Fri. 9/13/13 2:08pm Dean:

Not "afeared." "Reefered."
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:08pm amEdeo:

I have alien hand syndrome but only when I look at your hands.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:08pm Bryce:

ask amedeo's lawyer
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 2:10pm DCE:

I smell a restraining order
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:12pm Bryce:

you have clerical-olfactory synesthesia
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:14pm amEdeo:

Sadly my lawyer suffers from Capgras delusion, which causes him to think that I have been replaced by an impostor.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:16pm amEdeo:

Also, I found something in the basement that I meant to tell you about. It involved digital tubas.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:17pm Bryce:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Avatar    Fri. 9/13/13 2:53pm Whosondephone:

I'm just loving all the rhythms.
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:55pm Andrew Waterloo:

I hope I don't regret not staying up till 6am to see a William Parker trio
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:55pm Droll:

I count on Bryce's show for three hours of room-clearing action and I'm not comfortable with these new "listeners" hanging around. I read that one of them plays drums, so things are slipping downhill pretty quickly around here.
  Fri. 9/13/13 2:57pm nic:

love it super show !!!!!!!
Avatar Fri. 9/13/13 2:58pm Bryce:

thx, nic! bye alllll. time to hose down the tile walls.....
