Listener comments!

Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:20am Carmichael:

Good morning, Thom. Standing by for auditory fulfillment.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:46am DDDJJJ666:

Welcome to the Pleasure Dome, Carm!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:50am DDDJJJ666:

This throat singing sounds like my friend Enrique of Soriah fame. He goes to Tuva every 5 years to comete in their international throat singing competition. Last time he went he was awarded a horse!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:55am DDDJJJ666:

I will likely have to answer for my synths before the day is done.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:57am Doug Schulkind:

The seven deadly synths, I hope!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:58am DDDJJJ666:

This synth kills fascists.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 11:59am Rich in Washington:

synth you mention it....
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:00pm Rich in Washington:

I may have to miss the first half hour due to a ponderous and typically pointless work meeting.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:04pm Carmichael:

Your statement is redundant, Rich.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:04pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

if you gotta synth...
scratch it.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:05pm DDDJJJ666:

As regards your meeting, Rich: ditch.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:06pm DDDJJJ666:

Totes scratch it, Drude.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:07pm Carmichael:

I was otherwise occupied in the 80s, so this music is alien to me.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:07pm davex:

The best meetings are the ones you are obligated to go to although you know that they bear no relevance on you or anything you need to do.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:08pm DDDJJJ666:

This music was designed to be alieb to everyone.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:08pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...whereas I was an alien in the '80s, so this music is a lovely homecoming. Esp. that severed heads. Clicky-star mashed to pieces.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:08pm DDDJJJ666:

Can't this show be presented as a bullet point at a meeting?
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:09pm listener james from westwood:

good tuesday, all, and welcome back dddjjj666!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:09pm DDDJJJ666:

Severed Heads are my favorite Australian band with a metal-sounding name.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:10pm DDDJJJ666:

Hello JFW!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:10pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

......although whenever the page refreshes, that clicky-star becomes not-clicky'd. Technology lies.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:11pm DDDJJJ666:

You must be my clicky star, you shine on me wherever you are.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:11pm davex:

Why don't I ever hear this on the radio here (Germany)?
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:12pm DDDJJJ666:

Das stimmt. Zu gut, veilleicht. Oder zu rar.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:13pm DDDJJJ666:

Szigethy now makes techno.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:13pm Gary:

Ghost Ride?
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:14pm DDDJJJ666:

Yes, I'll explain later.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:14pm Gary:

Awesome
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:15pm DDDJJJ666:

It's a Kraut thing.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:16pm DDDJJJ666:

Maximal minimal synth.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:17pm Rich in Washington:

I gnawed my left paw off, metaphorically speaking, to escape the meeting steel trap but now missed The Severed Heads.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:18pm DDDJJJ666:

When I was a kid helping in the slow ruin of Detroit, synth was a dirty word. Luckily, I had a foul mouth.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:19pm DDDJJJ666:

Thank Christ for archiving. And for the bomb.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:20pm DDDJJJ666:

Rich: can I get a keychain made out of your left paw? (PS; sorry for my southpaw grammar).
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:22pm Rich in Washington:

I've never heard any Culturecide beyond their Tacky Souvenirs LP.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:22pm DDDJJJ666:

Oh, that covers LP?
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:23pm davex:

That's right, DDD, there is not too much variety in (terrestrial) German radio...
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:25pm DDDJJJ666:

Disco uber alles.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:26pm Rich in Washington:

@DDDJJJ666: yes, the pre-karaoke karaoke album.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:27pm DDDJJJ666:

Yeah, their first stuff is actually quite avant garde.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:28pm northguineahills:

Hot diggity!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:29pm DDDJJJ666:

This wave is so cold, I need a sweater.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:30pm Tony Coulter:

PDX synth!!!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:30pm DDDJJJ666:

Tony, get back in your cage!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:32pm DDDJJJ666:

I had dinner with this guy last week. Super nice. One of the few private presses half speed mastered.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:34pm Rich in Washington:

Hey DJ6³ (or Tony C.) Have you ever heard of an early 80s Portland synth dude named Randy Lewis, who only put out one 7" called Dreams Within a Dream? It's very Klaus Schulze-like.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:34pm DDDJJJ666:

This vocoder kills autotune fascists.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:34pm DDDJJJ666:

Here's some now.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:35pm DDDJJJ666:

PDX doubleshot!
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:35pm Rich in Washington:

Woah!
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:36pm Rich in Washington:

I always wondered what happened to that guy. I dug the Giorgio-looking cover to that 7-inch.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:36pm DDDJJJ666:

I used to see these around once in a while, but not for a bit.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:37pm DDDJJJ666:

Paul Nelson knows him, so might track him down.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:39pm Rich in Washington:

I had it in the 80s but was stolen by an ex-room mate or disappeared at a party but recently tracked it down, sans picture sleeve, which is a pity.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:40pm DDDJJJ666:

I'll let you know if I come into any.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:42pm DDDJJJ666:

Busrides haven't changed over the years. Except for Keanu Reeves.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:45pm DDDJJJ666:

Great Danes.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:46pm Rich in Washington:

Avant Garde De Luxe sounds like a 1930s high-end French motorcar.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 12:47pm DDDJJJ666:

They were rebuilt from an old Pujot engine.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:52pm DCE:

oh man I used to HATE that song!
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 12:56pm Rich in Washington:

post-schizm offshoots of Bow Wow Wow and Gene Loves Jezebel are playing at a dive bar in East Vancouver.
  Tue. 9/3/13 12:57pm Buick Makane:

Let's hit the road.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:06pm Gary:

Aha, thank you for the explanation!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:07pm DDDJJJ666:

You're welcome.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:08pm Tony Coulter:

Gene Loves L'il Bow Wow.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:15pm DDDJJJ666:

Tony, it's quiet time
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 1:15pm Uncle Michael:

HHHIII, IIITTT'''SSS MMMEEE.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:19pm DDDJJJ666:

Hey, Unc!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:21pm DDDJJJ666:

Isn't saying a dragon is magic a bit redundant?
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:24pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks Stuart Copeland for Frolkhaven. And thanks Miles Copeland for IRS.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:24pm DDDJJJ666:

Tony,mind your manners.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:25pm DDDJJJ666:

These guys should headline the Shark Week music festival.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Back now. And christ almighty, missed that Capt. Sensible track, which would have inspired some very bizarre flashbacks indeed.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:26pm DDDJJJ666:

He wears the fur pants in the family.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 1:31pm Rich in Washington:

Nueva Ola Mexicana!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:32pm DDDJJJ666:

A faction of those guys formed Esplendor Geometrico.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:32pm DDDJJJ666:

My wife loves this song.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 1:33pm Alex In Illinois:

i remember this one! I used to here it on the 10 Watt college radio station of Washington University.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:33pm DDDJJJ666:

Was one of those Watts Mike?
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 1:34pm Alex In Illinois:

Sorry, it wasn't Charlie either.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:37pm DDDJJJ666:

Watts the matter with that station?!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:38pm DDDJJJ666:

Sorry, for my long absences. I am WAY multitasking.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 1:47pm Uncle Michael:

Let's play master and servant.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 1:52pm DDDJJJ666:

It's a lot like life.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 2:03pm Rich in Washington:

More like Value Village People.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 2:04pm Rich in Washington:

Wow. I had to Google this. It's real.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:04pm DDDJJJ666:

I got more value from them when they went new wave.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 2:05pm Rich in Washington:

No fooling. Jeez! I've seen that record and never once thought to buy it, even for the disturbing cover.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:07pm DDDJJJ666:

That one song may be the only moment worth cherishing. While wearing a cop uniform.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:07pm DDDJJJ666:

That's what He Said!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:11pm Carmichael:

If you listen carefully to the beginning of Lucifer, you will hear morse code beeping out E-V-E.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:12pm DDDJJJ666:

HOLY OMG! I just completed an Alan Parsons Project in the bathroom.
Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 2:14pm listener james from westwood:

which i believe was a hovercraft of some kind.
  Tue. 9/3/13 2:16pm constitution:

I hope you sent to your senator.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:20pm DDDJJJ666:

I sent it to my senator in a hovercraft. Piloted by Gary Numan.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:20pm Carmichael:

Although not thought highly of by the band, Eve is an early and successful foray into "symphonic rock". Andrew Powell did a great job with the London Philharmonic, and the production and engineering (which was recently re-mastered and re-released) is top notch.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:21pm northguineahills:

pile of stool, missed 80 minutes of various amperes....
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:28pm DDDJJJ666:

Hopefully the archive will be up in the next couple days.
  Tue. 9/3/13 2:28pm princess:

Avatar    Tue. 9/3/13 2:41pm maestroso:

Really enjoying all this synthy stuff.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:41pm DDDJJJ666:

Best double Duran track ever!
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:43pm northguineahills:

Any chance of going off theme and playing Duran Duran Duran?
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:45pm DDDJJJ666:

Neither that nor Durian Durian.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:47pm northguineahills:

well, you could embed a loop of Duran Duran Duran w/ Duran Duran, and get Duran Duran Duran(Duran Duran). and embed other loops... (oh, heck, I don't have to copy pasta).
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 2:58pm northguineahills:

So, no one else remembers the drill&bass guy, Duran Duran Duran?
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 3:01pm DDDJJJ666:
