There's one simple reason I have so many damn records: I don't only like good music -- I like bad music too. I'm listening to a ridiculous early '80s Christian hair metal/AOR/prog record right now, and, well ... I'm enjoying it.
Another day, another donut. And another "Tape Hiss" too. Tomorrow, anyhow –– between noon and 3:00 ET (extraterrestrial time). With noizes from History of Unheard Music, Le Tombeau, and Xerobot, plus the comp "Mother's Night in a Turkish Bath."
Saw something in a Portland record store today that would definitely fit right in on an episode of Portlandia: Young parents taking their 6- or 7-year-old son vinyl record shopping. His picks? The Smiths and Tom Waits.
It's "Tape Hiss" time again, this tomorrow from noon to 3:00 ET. Here's what I've got planned: an "Ode to Samantha Fox," plus cassettes by Left Hand of the Nursery Man (attn: Alexander Ross) and Wallmen (thanks, Matt Moses!). La voila: http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/53040
