You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

everning.
  Mon. 7/29/13 9:11pm Robert:

I've heard the opening theme of this show enough times to conclude that the usually posted lyrics to "The True Wheel" are wrong. The opening line is not saying "801" and "central shaft"; it's saying, "We are the ancient one, we are the central shot." Ancient as in predecessors to all others, central shot as on a dartboard, the highest score.

Farther along, they're not referencing The Modern Lovers twice; rather, it's, "We saw the Mothers, The Modern Lovers, and they looked very good...." In other words, a left-handed compliment (or right-handed dissing) to BOTH the Mothers of Invention and The Modern Lovers. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Looks like this song may go on until the guests come on in 45 minutes or so.

TV show? On the island? Time bomb? This is going well.

@Robert, thanks for your take on the Eno tune -- I have also puzzled many times over those lyrics, and I agree that you've probably hit it on the nose.

Seed-at-Zero is a setting of a Dylan Thomas poem
Avatar    Mon. 7/29/13 9:45pm doca:

lovely tune this one from tonight's guests.
  Mon. 7/29/13 10:05pm Robert:

I was bluffing; I have a tin ear and a penchant for hearing Mondegreens, and the only reason I don't have more entries at "Kiss This Guy" is that more often than not I tend to hear Bill The Cat's version of "Louie, Louie"; but maybe this time I accidentally got it right, thanks. Or thanks for the ego boost if not.
  Mon. 7/29/13 10:14pm Robert:

Huh...and I thought sacred harp always involved some overtone chanting. Thanks for the counterexample, or straightening me out anyway. And what the heck, it's all fun listening.

She's a lovely poet whose tender words give voice to stories inside stories don't normally express themselves in any other way
