You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Charlie Looker's vocals have some certain something, eh?

No Seaven on Spotify. Yet another gaping omission!

Let the wiggling commence
  Mon. 2/25/13 9:16pm PB:

Interesting tribute to Dave Brubeck. Pavement did a cool one too, many years ago.

Hi. Wiggling tail notes wagging the Dog.

Dear Virginia,

Yes, there really is a Santa Dan. The two Bliss Blood CDs came in the mail this afternoon, and have been placed atop the to-listen pile for upcoming card games and other situations calling for musical back- and fore-ground this week....
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:22pm Richard from Venezuela:

Good evening Dan and all the listeners.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:22pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Well hot damn, look who went to UMass right after I left. Did you enjoy my graffiti in the library?
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:23pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

The Bliss Blood show on Wednesday was a nice time in the perfect setting, with a nice shout-out to WFMU.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:23pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Bliss Blood and Al Street, I should say.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 9:28pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

The Hoof this year is going to be in the first floor of the building after many years at Maxwell's. Wonder how this is going to be. Will we have a potlock style bar?
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:33pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I am still wondering, will the public be invited?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 9:35pm Dan Bodah:

Hi all, bit of a scramble here so sorry if I'm a bit scarce on the board. I do not know if the H&M will be open to the public, but I suspect not -- the space is not all that big and it is still in the rudimentary stages of construction. It's not gonna be ready by then for a bigger crowd than the large crowd of staffers. I am pretty sure there will be a video feed though. I'll check.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 9:37pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

@Pete-I came to think the same. At Maxwell's it was a public place and open to anyone. But each year it seemed it was able to house it for the listeners. If it needs to be restricted maybe we can make it open to mouse pledge folks and above?
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:39pm Sugarfly Waterloo:

How about those of us who've put a lot of work into perfecting their curtsies?
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:41pm fleep:

Give the far flung org folks a video feed and we'll make our own bars.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:43pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I enjoyed the feed so much last year I was planning on making it this year, but so be it. It's St. Patrick's Day, which is the day Hoboken traditionally opens the Municipal Vomit Cistern and floods Washington St., so I guess Maxwell's is out of the question anyway.
  Mon. 2/25/13 9:45pm PB:

West - for my money the best Wooden Shijps CD. Great stuff.
     Mon. 2/25/13 9:46pm 12539:

Dan, whatever dilemmas you're having making choices tonight are being resolved in very fine fashion.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:49pm steve:

hi Dan.

@GMMM - Ken said a few days ago the Hoof and Mouth is invite only this year.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 9:51pm Dan Bodah:

@Steve, thanks for letting us know. That's what I thought it'd be.

Hey, Thee Open Sex coming up live on this show on 4/1/13 everyone.
  Mon. 2/25/13 9:52pm PB:

Kudos DB. Where do you find all this great stuff like Thee Open Sex that I've never even heard of.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 9:55pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Agreed on the Thee Open Sex.

Man, the kids today sure flock to the Lightning Bolt. I am always impressed at their staying power.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 9:57pm Dan Bodah:

@Pete, still fine after all these years. I opened for them back in 1998 at Mystery Train in Amherst for an in-store.

Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 10:00pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Wow, my co-worker is in a band that opened for them in September.

I loved that Mystery Train, btw, and its previous incarnation Al Bum's. Still have some cherished picks from there.
  Mon. 2/25/13 10:01pm PB:

@Sugarfly, thanks for the link.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 10:01pm Ike:

Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 10:09pm Dan Bodah:

@Pete, is the Amherst Mystery Train really gone? I thought Josh moved it down the road, or maybe to Belchertown?
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 10:11pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Oh, it was my understanding they were all gone except for Gloucester, which I guess was the original. Could be in Belchertown -- I haven't mucked about the Valley in a long time. Newbury St., Boston, is long gone, having been sold and then failed sometime before 2002.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 10:15pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Google says I'm wrong, Just moved. Don't listen to me anymore.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 10:19pm Sugarfly Waterloo:

At least Google is pooping your party in an overall positive fashion.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 10:35pm Sugarfly Waterloo:

That was a great set Dan

Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 11:04pm Dan Bodah:

Yeah, I hadn't gotten around to listening until tonight either -- it's pretty good. Will mix well with what comes next, too.

Remember that on the wallphone?

The US federal debt is 16 trillion or so. A trillion here, a trillion there, and eventually you're talking real money.

@plastiquejesus, this is all I could find real quick: discus-music.co.uk...
  Mon. 2/25/13 11:36pm plastiquejesus:

I got there too. Thanks. Superior stuff the OUA.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 11:40pm Dan Bodah:

Yeah, and it's a super-nice recording too -- really does the music justice
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 11:47pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

The MBV record has gotten more airplay than any other new album I've heard on college/local radio than I can remember.

I wish the same was true of Anton Batagov.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 11:49pm Dan Bodah:

We've been seeing a lot of Bagatov's stuff come into the station over the last couple of years -- I think we might still be gathering up past releases. This one came out in 2009.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 11:52pm Dan Bodah:
