I'll admit the only period I had true disdain for Jethro Tull was when they beat out Metallica for Hard Rock/Metal Grammy (1989. that was rough.)

Jethro Tull was where the nerds and the rockers overlapped. Some Tull albums are flat-out blues rock, some are noodling prog odysseys, but there are a few points both agree on.

I think "Stand Up" is a stand-up album. It would be easy to convince a lot of people "Cat's Squirrel" is a lost Cream B-side.

Can we talk about how awesome the covers are for both Yes and Tull albums? My father got into Tull purely because of the covers :P Also, on a related note, I went to a geek convention in Boston last weekend, and saw Roger Dean, who designed all the popular Yes covers. He was a nice gentleman.

I should shut up now, but Usenet was king before anyone used the web (which was all just yellow words in lists then anyway). The second-most popular thing I knew of on the internet was Gopher, which was -- you got it -- more lists of yellow words that you used the arrow keys to get around.

One proggy thing about APP is that the key is constantly changing. Only makes sense that Dan would add the twist of the speed constantly changing. Mostly in an accelerating direction, to get it over with faster. :-)
