It was an LP that tought young musicians how to improvise. I have always treasured the record and I am grateful for my wonderful music teachers that I had when I was young.

The Beach Boys  Surfin'   Favoriting Greatest Hits (1961-1963)  Springboard  ?  LP  An album with liner notes by Dorinda Morgan, wife of Hite Morgan, who operated the studio The Beach Boys first recorded in. LP features raw early tracks and quite a few tracks they have nothing to do with by 'The Surfin' Six.' Still ... for $1, I'll take it! Plus, I'm excited to see the Boys back together.
Styx  Mother Dear   Favoriting Equinox  A&M  1975  LP  The last of the pre-Tommy Shaw Styx LP's (their 5th). THis song was written by Dennis DeYoung and former Styx member John Curulewski who left the band after this record. Curulewski died in 1988. I like this sound they created together. Came out 5 months before I graduated, hence my devotion and love.

I've voted for Cory Booker three times now, but even *I* have to say, his frequent superhero thing is a little odd. He must be listening to police radio and responding when in the area, I guess. And there's an ugly mess with the Newark water utility that I can barely begin to understand....
