MSNBC Special Report announces the shootings in Tucson, AZ
|
Eyewitness account of the shooting scene.

Rep. Giffords surgeon speaks on her condition and other patient's status after the shooting incident. (KGUN - Tucson)

Recorded announcement heard on the escalators as one enters Penn Station in NYC. With the cold weather of late, Penn Station is a good place to go to do interviews, where it's warm and busy, and there is no music in the background.d

OK, I have an admission to make here. I lost my notes concerning the making of this show. Lately, as I have been assembling Dusties, I have been taking copious notery so that when I make my playlists, I can give credit where it's due and cover my keister at the same time. I lost the notes this go-round. What was I thinking when I so daftly threw out the doggone notes? Where was my mind? On Hellgate, most likely -- mastering that deadly ice. So I've been winging it thus far, referring to my computer history to unearth some things, going online for others. Struggling. At this point in the show there is a nice little passage with a woman singing nicely over a chirruping synth prance. The thing is, I can't tell you the name of the artist/band. If you know, please check in and I'll update. dusty@wfmu.org Now back to the show!

Apologies for the distortion. My records and my needle grow old. I need to make an investment. SPend some $$ on gear. You know how it is. Those pursestrings are so taught, so bound. Loosening them requires great strength.

As you can probably tell here, I am behind schedule and letting the tape roll sans many edits or byte insertions. I actually had time to make this show, but I got bogged down at the beginning, spending to much time on edits and wanting to "get it right."

That's it for another episode of the Dusty Show everyone. I hope you enjoyed it. As it listen to it, I somehow feel that, on this one, I fell a little bit short of the mark. It was a difficult show to make. Tthe shootings did upset me, as they did all of us. And I did think about all the sound effects on Dusty ... all the bombs and guns and explosions. The rhetoric. So I have that to ponder. And I will. And like you, I'll go on and life will go on and history will note this tragedy so that we don't forget it. I want to thank you for listening. I've been doing this a while now. Sometimes I still feel like the "new guy" on WFMU. I appreciate your taking the long ride with me as I try to think of new ways to entertain you each week. It's a lot of fun for me, and also a challenge, as the weeks fly by so quickly. I have a great wife who gives me lots of love and encouragement, and the best listeners anywhere. Thanks again. Always remember ... The Pidge
