You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Listener comments!

  Sun. 8/22/10 6:09am Hallock Hill:

I love electrified thumb pianos.
  Sun. 8/22/10 6:09am Tom L:

I wrote that! Morning. It automatically entered Hallock Hill.
  Sun. 8/22/10 6:10am Looms:

Morning everyone! Love these sounds and vibes too, great start!
  Sun. 8/22/10 6:19am Looms:

Crammed Discs decided to reissue its Made To Measure series, that's good news! Many good works are to be found within it.
  Sun. 8/22/10 6:22am Bingo Paydirt:

I'd like to request "Wild Wild West" by The Escape Club. That or side two of INXS' Kick. Whichever is easier.
  Sun. 8/22/10 6:50am Dan B:

Good morning everyone. @BP I'll see what I can do for you, but it will take a while and they'll be backwards.
  Sun. 8/22/10 6:58am Tom L:

Terrific set.
  Sun. 8/22/10 7:01am Looms:

Ali Farka Toure passed away on march 6th, 2006 (RIP)
  Sun. 8/22/10 7:29am Looms:

Any chance you could play something from Dhafer Youssef's first album?
  Sun. 8/22/10 7:44am Rachel Malheure:

Sounds like my neighborhood today.
  Sun. 8/22/10 7:45am lady gaga:

i'm awake!
  Sun. 8/22/10 7:47am Dan B:

@Looms, sorry, we don't have anything by him here. I'll have to keep my eyes open for him. @Rachel, heh. @Lady Gaga, nice to see you here! Good morning!!
  Sun. 8/22/10 7:54am silas:

  Sun. 8/22/10 7:55am silas:

hazey did that.
  Sun. 8/22/10 7:56am Dan B:

@Silas -- Oh that Lady Gaga! She didn't fall asleep until really late last night, what's she doing up aready? How do you like being home?
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:04am penelope:

tell me about it.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:07am Looms:

@Dan: i encourage you to check out Youssef's work. He's a terrific composer, vocalist and oud player, influenced by sufism. Maybe the best way to begin is Electric Sufi on Enja Rec.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:24am Rob W:

I'm not sure that we have any Dhafer Youssef in the FMU library Looms (and Dan) - I have played him on my show a couple of times from my own collection. While sometimes he gets a little too polished in his esthetic for my taste, I agree he's an interesting and creative artist.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:26am Dan B:

@Rob, I checked -- we don't have anything in the library.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:26am Looms:

Feel the same way about his recent releases, Rob. Still interesting on stage though.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:27am Rob W:

Yep, I thought not. Great show though Dan!
Sun. 8/22/10 8:38am Chris from DC:

That time stretch program they used for the Beiber thing is fun to play with. I have this 3 minute recording of a carousel stretched to 45 minutes.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:41am Tom L:

800% more interesting.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:42am Dan B:

@Rob, thanks! @Chris, I tried to stretch something out, but it was going to take a million years on my computer. @Tom, you hit the nail on the head. There's basically no music that sounds worse slowed down 800% or more. Just part of my continuing quest to make crappy records sound half decent through intervention.
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:47am Davice:

I'm smiling now!
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:55am Looms:

Thanks as usual, Dan!
  Sun. 8/22/10 8:56am Dan B:

Thanks all, I am out of here.
  Sun. 8/22/10 9:00am Chris Repella:

No way...I missed Glass Trees by just minutes!!!
Thank god for archives!
and more importantly, thank god for YOU, DAN BODAH!!!
