Playlist for Bryce - July 25, 2008

Fridays Noon - 3pm on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Fri. 7/25/08 1:41pm From: zedprophfer

holy shit, panasonic! awesome!

Fri. 7/25/08 1:42pm From: Sean Daily

Bryce, what is this Panasonic song? Me likes.

Fri. 7/25/08 1:59pm From: Jim

He's Russian. "COH" is cyrillic, "C" = S, "H" = N per roman script, so it should be pronounced "Son" (with a long O, like the middle syllable of "Pansonic"

Fri. 7/25/08 2:02pm From: R. P.

Actually, the O is pronounced like a short A in unstressed syllables or monosyllables, so the correct pronunciation is more like "sahn"

Fri. 7/25/08 2:02pm From: bryce

oh cool! thanks, i never got the romanized cyrillic goof....

glad he's not ethiopian. woulda been trying to pronounce, like, 8o+ |o oo&).

Fri. 7/25/08 2:15pm From: RagnarR in SF Bay

This Thorkell Sigurbjornsson is really nice. Is this new? Some of this sounds like it's purring.

Fri. 7/25/08 2:18pm From: bryce

i know, beautiful, right? it's actually from 75. Mr. Bjornsson is from 1938....

Fri. 7/25/08 2:19pm From: Sean Daily

And we go from "Asteroids" to a Japanese guy who's evidently trying to out-Wagner Wagner.

Fri. 7/25/08 2:19pm From: fred

Wow, Discord! It's been a very, very long time since I last listened to that record. Thanks Bryce!

Fri. 7/25/08 2:20pm From: geo disk

I agree about the Thor S piece (too rotten a typist to try the full name). The speakers appreciated the exercise

Fri. 7/25/08 2:32pm From: RagnarR in SF Bay

So, Is Sigurbjornsson Icelandic or Swedish? (Stupid computer doesn't let me use an umlaut!)

Fri. 7/25/08 2:48pm From: bryce

he's geothermal. as is this lovely human:
