This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

It might have just come up in the chat, now that I think about it. Mid-Valley Mutations on the Sheena's stream, I believe. I HAVE seen The Prisoner, quite a while ago though

haven’t watched a The Prisoner in ages, what a trip that show is. I’ve more recently been loving seeing McGoohan showing up as a guest star in Columbo
. definitely drops the “be seeing you” once or twice in there

it's both very much of it's time, 20th c existentialism, kafka, and has aged very well, maybe because of the spectacularized world

his Columbo eps are two of my very favorites! especially the one where he's a CIA guy who kills Leslie Nielsen, Columbo goes demonic to take him down, it's an all-timer. Dawn's Early Light is beautiful, perfect Columbo as well. and of course McGoohan also directed the worst ep of the original run, Farewell to the Commodore (?)

i think Columbo might be the best TV show of all time

where would one go to watch some Columbo these days? I am long divorced from the creep with the excellent video collection who had a lot of Columbo (and also got me into The Prisoner)

Max studied taiko drumming with the Kodo collective on Sado Island. Came back to the states and produced a concert performing with them at Town Hall in NYC. I friend of mine was doing publicity for Town Hall and hooked me up with a interview with Max to promote the show. I spent the greatest day of my music life one afternoon in Max's Upper West Side apartment.
