@Jeffrey: I did! When I was in college, one told we I was wasting my time in class and told me not to attend, then for the final exam we had to do a presentation on something related to economics or finance, but I was free to choose any topic. I chose "small town USA in David Lynch movies", and she loved it. Turned out to be more of conversation than a presentation

fred:

Another story to honor English teachers: the reason my high school teacher added me to the exchange program was that I took the habit of finding a way, whatever the subject, to build the assignment to a reference to a French comic by the late Marcel Gotlib. By the end of the year she was already laughing when I turned it in. Instead of cracking the whip, she encouraged me in this small time creative endeavor, and that changed my life

Toothgrinder Tom:

Enjoying my coffee.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18am

Ted in Montclair:

Books: I must recommend one of my favorite photography books, Galen Rowell: A Retrospective. His photos of mountains and other wilderness settings are stunning and sublime; he died in a small plane crash in 2002. His images would complement any of these contemplative songs — and especially Across the Great Divide by the great Kate Wolf. Rest In Peace Justice Ginsburg.

@fred + Jeffrey (and @deborah (Hi!), knowing she teaches as well) - being one myself, I find it is indispensably important to be balanced within and at ease with oneself so that the crap around you becomes just like water off a duck's back. I am in hometeaching but my school administration doesn't manage to pass on important information, guidelines etc. But instead of being angry, I know pretty well that everything is a challenge these days. Everybody needs to chill a bit I think. It is all a matter of mindset, nothing is lost.

@Yeti Bob, Be Now Homeboy, Jeffrey Davison I am sad and concerned as this country tips further and further to the right/wrong. Trying to not let it further impact this sense of existential angst. Coffee, this music, virtual list friends all help. Namaste.

Somebody popped in an hour ago with the handle '801live'. That's one of my favorite records ever.

Thank you very much Jeffrey for mentioning photographers unknown to me ... Great discoveries! If you will, sometimes, mention others whom you know and love, I will be very grateful. It is as interesting as the music you play!
