Afternoon! I'm ashamed to say I've never seen Duke of Burgundy, but I HIGHLY recommend Peter Strickland's new film In Fabric. Psychedelic British horror comedy about a killer dress, with a very Radiophonic Workshop soundtrack.

@frozen peas most definitely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Ike:

Oh yeah, I totally was naive enough to think Enigma was great make-out music when it originally came out (while having no idea about anything) and also dreamed of finding a girl who also thought "Loveless" was the GREATEST THING EVER. I *very* much relate to that.

Where but at Sophisticated Boom Boom can you hear such an incredible selection of music? Thank you.
Avatar S.B. Boomer: Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 4:37pm listener james from westwood:

Ohhhh, I'd have killed to have Alphaville as my prom's song. In May 1987 we were stuck with Phil Collins's "In Too Deep." We almost got U2, "With or Without You."
Avatar S.B. Boomer: Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 4:38pm listener james from westwood:

Pop is my favorite word...a simple palindrome that has many different meanings especially in art and also was what my granddad was to my brothers and I. Magical word.
Avatar 4:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

1.) Pop kinda means two things: elements of Style or actually Popular (who is it uses term 'Unpopular Pop' ??)...
2.) Any Genre you name will turn off *somebody*. So - apologizing tends to be simply a waste of time...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm tim from champaign:

I whole heartedly stand behind this single of the week selection. Weird, wobbly gospel music? Completely up my alley!
Avatar 4:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  4:44pm Jazzy Jas:

I think that was Little Ann (Bridgeforth) singing lead on the Sensational Angelettes track. She hung around Hamilton's house quite a bit and cut the immortal "Lean Lanky Daddy", "Deep Shadows" and "What Should I Do". Her voice is unmistakable.
Avatar 4:44pm djsheilab:

Jazzy Jas—One of the most haunting, brilliant videos of all time. And I don't know why. It just gets under your skin. I'll never forget it.

MONEYBAG$—Seriously. I'm shocked. I hold his writing in such high regard.
Avatar S.B. Boomer: Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Guido from Cologne:

It was Simon Spencer if I remember correctly.

It was to be a biography ABOUT Andrew Oldham. In the middle of the process oldham came in possession of the manuscript files and re-edited everything into the first person form.

So it was not ghost-writing in the "average" manner. But it was a serious amount of work left uncredited and unpaid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm tim from champaign:

I really need to get The World of Keith Haring. About 20 years ago I went to a really great Keith Haring retrospective at the SFMOMA. It included Haring's personal ephemera including his tapes. I totally loved seeing his tape collection.

That Al Massrieen (love them!) track earlier reminded me a little of Nadah El Shazly, who I saw earlier this year. Great vibe.
