  1:02am Dan Beckman-Moon:

been a big fan of your show for a long time now. I did a midnight-2 radio show in midcoast Maine and eventually had to give up those late nights and I felt much more healthy and entergetic when I quit so i Totally understand! Thx for all the turn ons over the years. Will keep listening to the archived shows. Dan B-Moon/Village of Spaces.

same, saucerful. i always discover the good shows too late!
  1:06am Jeff Conklin:

Like I said. I’ll try again in the fall. This means a lot to me but the late nights are just killing my soul.
  1:06am RCU-Keith:

Yeah I can't imagine dealing with one job and doing a weekly long, late Sunday night gig on top of that, let alone TWO. Totally understandable. Thanks for sticking with it for so long! Sure will miss this show to death, but you totally deserve a break!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am chresti:

I usually have to go to bed early Sunday nights, ( have an early shift on Mondays), took tomorrow off. What about Give the drummer Radio for a better time slot?@Jeff
  1:07am tino:

I’m an archive normie but I go live for the fundraisers, but felt the call tonight. Thanks for everything Jeff
  1:07am Agent Peter:

  1:08am MKnow:

This is my first time listening live....just wanted to drop a line and say that you have opened my eyes to a lot of great music and I am thankful for your incredible show and all your hard work. Wishing you all the best and I hope to hear you back on the radio. Cheers!
  1:09am greatbarrington:

i don't know how any of the late nighters do it to be honest. therese was mentioning that tonight and expressing gratitude she didn't have to rush home due to memorial day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09am Dave in Vermont:

yes, I was also wondering about the Drummer stream - would Doug allow such hippie shenanigans?
  1:09am katharsis:

Thanks for making Sunday nights easier.

Ugh that transition into China Car
  1:10am tino:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am Dave in Vermont:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am chresti:

I had a graveyard shift a couple times. Never lasted more than a week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am Franco Twinkie:

Since I jumped this train a little more than a year ago, I'm always out late on Sundays and I'm wired and tired when I get home. Your show helps me ease into bed. Sleep is very important, especially for a growing boy like yourself, Jeff.
  1:11am Mauri:

Waking up to the show has made my mondays muchos better. Thanks Jeff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am chresti:

I'm sure he would@Dave
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13am Dave in Vermont:

Total daylight lurker!!! This 73’ tape is killer. What’s the exact date/venue?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am Dave in Vermont:

i don't know either..but you already have a built-in audience who I am sure would follow you there
  1:15am Agent Peter:

DaveInVT - noticed that. Would have preferred a return of Imaginary Radio or DKFM. Maybe some day...
  1:15am moelarryandjesus:

Jeff, did you ever nod off on air?
  1:17am Dan Beckman-Moon:

Ah I see...st paul ;)
  1:17am greatbarrington:

see i had them pegged for going into caution do not step on tracks but they took a left into I Know You Rider!
  1:17am Jeff Conklin:

No I’ve never fallen asleep here, just in traffic heading into the tunnel
  1:17am moelarryandjesus:

Must have been fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am Ken From Hyde Park:

Mary Wing was Saturday/Sunday midnight - 3AM for a while and seems to like Wednesday noon on the Drummer stream. Ding!
  1:18am tino:

Thinking about the Flower Room tribute on twitter this week. I knew about Herbcraft et al before I knew Avant Ghetto, but the Flower Room project has been in no small way quite life changing to how I listen to music, and per them (and me) it’s inextricable from your show. Thanks for helping pull together threads you probably didn’t even plan to. Much love man
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am Dave in Vermont:

I miss Imaginary Radio too
Avatar 1:18am Jeff Conklin:

Yeah its great. But driving around for 30 mins looking for parking at home is better.
Avatar 1:19am Jeff Conklin:

@Dan: St. Paul Auditorium, St. Paul, MN, 2/17/73
Avatar 1:19am Eiderdown:

Oh man, I only do a 10pm-midnight radio show and it wrecks my next morning at work. I'm impressed with your fortitude Jeff!
  1:20am saucerful:

Great version of I Know You Rider
  1:20am greatbarrington:

Jerry really opening up now
Avatar 1:20am Jeff Conklin:

Yeah that was a really nice message from Flower Room, honestly I was blown away by the reactions to the hiatus. Quite humbling..
  1:21am saucerful:

Gonna miss ya when you're gone!
  1:22am phil:

Jeff, pretty sure I first heard you when you debuted a side from Dead C's "Armed Courage" on EVR. When you played Wolf Eyes > Genesis on your EVR farewell I knew I was hooked
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24am Franco Twinkie:

Okay, who do lean on to keep Jeff around. Should we corner someone in the parking lot?
Avatar 1:24am Jeff Conklin:

@Phil: Holy shit can't believe you remember that. I'm still very proud of that segue...
  1:24am Althelivedeadday:

Gonna miss this Jeff.
  1:24am Rags:

Jeff...thanks for putting in so many late nights for this.
  1:24am Althelivedeadday:

  1:29am greatbarrington:

oh yeah, it's a tesseract wall at this point, what with the dead playing :)
  1:29am Ajay:

Tuning in as always on a Monday morning here in The Netherlands. The perfect start to every week for me. This show has turned me onto so much goodness. Stay!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30am Ken From Hyde Park:

I believe I have an AG T-shirt stashed away. I'll bring it along for the WFMU motorcycle ride from the station to Bear Mountain later today.
Avatar 1:31am Jeff Conklin:

Is that a thing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32am Fuzzy:

Mostly lurked while I worked, in the middle of my 3-day graveyard shift workweek -- yep, these hours can be a real grinder, not for everyone.
I was never a big Deadhead, but this show helped me develop a greater appreciation for their music, and I got to learn about a lot of other great stuff. Thanks, Jeff -- hope you're back soon!
  1:34am Chickaloon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34am Goyim in the AM:

On behalf of the listeners who just can't love the Grateful Dead but adore your show anyway (yes, there are at least one of us), we will miss your show during the hiatus and hope you return to blow minds on WFMU very very soon. (In case anyone's interested, at the end of the day my problem with the Dead is Phil. I wouldn't have known that except for this show.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35am Ken From Hyde Park:

Listener crateslinger thought it up and posted it on some daytime message boards. I think there are three of us in on the ride. Not officially sanctioned by the station like a record fair event, but not disallowed by Station Manager Ken. Meet around back at 11AM and we ride out after that.
  1:35am RCU-Keith:

Not usually a Truckin' guy, but this is pure fire. I'm absolutely loving this.
Avatar 1:36am Jeff Conklin:

Ah, well ride safe!
  1:36am greatbarrington:

holy moly will it be US blues
Avatar 1:36am Jeff Conklin:

This is THE Truckin'
  1:37am Joe Pop-O-Pie:

  1:39am greatbarrington:

we are covering worlds of territory in a matter of minutes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39am Franco Twinkie:

Avatar 1:40am Jeff Conklin:

If by "summer vacation" you mean my one day off then yes I'll try to sleep under a tree once in a while ;)
  1:41am greatbarrington:

whoa someone had an octave pedal doing a kind of detune effect
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42am Franco Twinkie:

Okay, maybe just a nap on the screen porch.
  1:43am greatbarrington:

without peeking at the set list, I was about to comment, "At this I wouldn't be surprised if they went into not fade away"
  1:43am Jeff Conklin:

Porch?? You got me living in a real fantasy world! Ha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am Ken From Hyde Park:

Safe riding begins with a good night's rest. If I don't check in next week, I'll see you 'round the bend, DJ. Take care.
  1:43am Jeff Conklin:

You’d be fucking up BIG TIME if you don’t tune in live next week. Just sayin’
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44am Ken From Hyde Park:

  1:50am yippie:

  1:54am RCU-Keith:

holy shit that ending
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58am Franco Twinkie:

Jeff, when I was a youngster, there was a really great free form radio station in Pasadena called KPPC. I would stay up late and listen to all the nutty stuff they would play, never for a moment thinking about the sleep deprived DJ entertaining me while I sprawled on the floor in my pajamas. Thank you. Now I understand.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58am chresti:

Some of the GTDR shows are from remote locations, some at their home studios-just sayin'
Avatar 1:59am Eiderdown:

You've turned me on to many great sounds Jeff, but amazingly you've given me a new-found appreciation of the Dead...and for that, I doff my hat to you good sir.
  1:59am greatbarrington:

  2:00am moelarryandjesus:

I saw Wolf Eyes play with Trad Gras and Sunburned Hand, but no Genesis.
Avatar 2:00am Jeff Conklin:

Honestly the idea of doing a radio show from my couch in my underwear is....unappealing
Avatar 2:01am Jeff Conklin:

@Eiderdown: Same to you, you intorduced me to Jon Colling one of my absilute faves!
Avatar 2:03am Jeff Conklin:

Can't spell anymore sorry
Avatar 2:05am Eiderdown:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11am Franco Twinkie:

Granny, are you tired? I am tired. Can you imagine what you would feel like if it was three hours later?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13am chresti:

On the new stream, Sheena's Jungle Room, DJ Georgey Girl, I think, broadcasts from a closet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16am chresti:

As far as I know, all the GTDR DJs are fully dressed, making dinner at the same time, (Gary Sullivan)
Avatar 2:22am Jeff Conklin:

You really have a handle on the fmu scene, chresti...

  2:34am moelarryandjesus:

Definitely never hear of the Padang Food Tigers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38am Franco Twinkie:

Jeff, I think you would be a radio superstar if you were broadcasting from the west coast.
  2:39am rw:

Hello! Got here late this evening. Thanks JC for doing this thing. We'll all miss you this summer! Hopefully you'll still be an FMU presence. The sounds of the Ghetto add a nice texture to the station as a whole.I've been listening and enjoying since your early fill in shows in the wee hours. And even if you're not in your underwear we like to picture you that way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41am Franco Twinkie:

If you were in California you could do your show naked.
Avatar 2:43am baconfat:

Hey Jeff -
Dominic from Virginia here - I usually can't listen to the show in real-time because we have a toddler who's up early every am but I'm checking in from Rome Italy at the moment where Monday morning is in full effect and she's listening with me.
