Just finished listening to a 2008(!!) Liz Berg archive in which she said you'd be coming up next to sub for Irene, so this is some wild kismet right here!

Heya, James! Gotta get Liz back on the air -- should ask her to sub for me one of these days!

wonder if Barnes and Barnes will ever do anything again. The more famous Art is still doing music but doesn't seem to be into peculiar music any longer.

There's also the Malone & Barnes And Spontaneous Simplicity "Freedom Serenade" album. That's a good one. Hi Tony. Hi everyone!

@LJfW, that's a good way to avoid that offensively boring Don Felder idiocy that Matt W. plays every Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Avatar 12:26pm
glenn:

re: the quiet jungle - Late in 1965, the band started out as the house act at the Pressmen's Club, performing under the name the Secrets, with a line-up which featured Doug Rankine (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Bob Mark (lead guitar), Henry S. Thaler (electric piano), Mike Woodruff (bass guitar), and Rick Felstead (drums).[1] Record producer Brian Macfarlane approached the Secrets with a proposal, in early 1966, to record a novelty song he had composed for Toronto Maple Leafs player Eddie Shack, who was enjoying a breakout season at the time. Titled "Clear the Track, Here Comes Shack", the single, backed by the lesser-known "Warming the Bench", was a simplistic, but catchy tune which was released on Canada International, and became a huge commercial success on Toronto's CHUM Charts, where it peaked at number one for two weeks.
Avatar 12:27pm
Tony Coulter:

@ glenn: Weird! Had no idea they were "big in Canada"
Avatar 12:28pm
glenn:

brian macfarlane wasn't really a record producer, he was involved with hockey night in canada, and was the "inventor" of peter puck. also worthy of note, his father, leslie macfarlane was the first franklin w. dixon, and wrote the first dozen or so hardy boys novels.
