remains grateful that Placebo records were reissued for record store day a few years ago. (duane, i think you said at one point you have an original! whoa!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I hope this train's baggage car has room for all the sacks of cash being delivered to the station.
Avatar 12:23pm Duane:

JtotheK: Yeah...I got real lucky with those come ups..20 years ago and they were still pretty pricey. I have the counterpoint collection on vinyl too that came out in the 90's and I think that goes for $$ too!
Avatar 12:23pm Duane:

Ken: Yes...we have the caboose:)

Has anyone heard of Meute, the techno marching band? Good stuff!
Avatar 1:53pm Duane:

Cecile: I know a couple people in the band:) Hamburg right?
Avatar 1:56pm Cecile:

Yeah. I love how they make up arrangements for the remixes of the tracks they like...
Avatar 1:56pm Cecile:

That glockenspiel player deserves combat pay.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Kat in Chicago:

Daniel Avery!
Avatar 2:09pm Cecile:

Kat, here's a sample of their work. They are doing a cover of the Man with the Red Face by I think Laurent Garnier:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Kat in Chicago:

Duane, I'm in NYC 10/24 thru 10/29. Got any gigs? Do you post that info somewhere?
Avatar 2:23pm Duane:

Kat: Aw man..I'm actually in LA during that time..I'm playing when in out there:). I generally post all my DJ happenings on my IG page..have fun while you're here!
Avatar 2:24pm Jshatan:

I Just googled that Laura Lee song because it's so good! Written by Holland-Dozier - not sure who the backing band was, though. Probably a lot of Motown dudes...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Kat in Chicago:

I will, Duane! Have fun in LA! I'll be at the Kenny G thing that just got moved from Wednesday to Saturday, hope to maybe meet some comments board types there. I might be able to come to polka too
Avatar 2:30pm slugluv1313:

@ Jshatan -- Laura Lee is awesome! and if you can get your hands on her "Women's Love Rights" album, do it! (i am guessing it must have been re-issued at some point???)
as i am STILL kicking myself for not getting the LP when it first came out! (ok i could not have been more than 12 or 13 -- and i never had an allowance from my parents but i would spend my lunch money on records instead of lunch hah)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Kat in Chicago:

No allowance? :( mine went to records for sure
Avatar 2:31pm Cecile:

This is some classic deep house shit here. Love the bassline.
Avatar 2:32pm Duane:

Cecile: Strongest thing DFA has released in some time
Avatar 2:33pm Cecile:

It is a banger. Like oxygen.
Avatar 2:33pm esha:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 2:36pm Cecile:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Kat in Chicago:

I treasured my first transistor radio too. www.google.com...
  2:39pm spodiodi:

nice radio, Kat
Avatar 2:41pm slugluv1313:

@ Kat in Chicago -- LOVE that radio! and welcome to NYC!!!
i think i had a transistor radio from Sinclair gas stations? i remember the little green dinosaur on the front panel :)
and no, no allowance! my parents did not believe in that sort of thing -- they grew up during the Depression, really tough early lives
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Kat in Chicago:

OMG I remember that little green dinosaur logo. Never saw a radio with their brand.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Michael 98145:

my first radio probably came from Sears
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Kat in Chicago:

There's a bunch of pictures online of the Sinclair radio, it looks like a gas pump!
Avatar 2:45pm Jshatan:

This was my first radio, believe it or not: www.ebay.ie...
  2:46pm spodiodi:

had one of these for a while (a long time after it was made, and without the smart leather case): https://i.pinimg.com/474x/ff/3d/14/ff3d147f7ad31e5f142e7cda48492f86--transistor-radio-radios.jpg
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Kat in Chicago:

@Jshatan that's amazing!
Avatar 2:46pm slugluv1313:

@ Kat in Chicago -- turns out they are collectible??!! (gosh my parents saved EVERYTHING -- another by-product of being really poor -- i wonder if this is still floating around somewhere?)
and, when i was little, i loved that dinosaur! probably "made" my Dad buy gas from them??
Avatar 2:47pm Jshatan:

@Kat - I know, right? I wish I still had it...
  2:47pm spodiodi:

nice one, Jshatan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Kat in Chicago:

@spodiodi wow "INTERNET" brand!
Avatar 2:48pm Jshatan:

@slugluv1313 - Laura Lee is widely available for cheap, according to discogs! I'm going to keep an eye out for it in the wild, however ;-).
Avatar 2:48pm slugluv1313:

that is AMAZING Jshatan! never seen anything like it -- what year is that from?
Avatar 2:49pm Jshatan:

@Slugluv1313 - probably 1974 or thereabouts. I loved knights and armor so my dad spotted it at Radio Shack!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Kat in Chicago:

My dad was an Esso guy, but I always liked the dinosaur too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Michael 98145:

Internet 10. love that "two band, medium wave/long wave"
Avatar 2:50pm Duane:

My first transistor..i was obseesed with the EQ's obviously..www.ebay.com...
Avatar 2:51pm Jshatan:

Literally the last thing I need in my life is to become a transistor radio fanatic - but y'all are making it awfully hard to resist...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Kat in Chicago:

I just emailed myself the link to the "Internet" radio, gotta use that image somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Kat in Chicago:

That's a good-looking one, Duane. I would use that now.
Avatar 2:52pm slugluv1313:

ah my Dad went to Esso too!
but that was *okay* b/c i loved the Esso tiger too, hah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Kat in Chicago:

I know Jshatan, talk about going down rabbit holes - this is an inviting one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Michael 98145:

just don't let your batteries corrode those beauties !

thanks for the wonderful show, DJ Duane *•♫
Avatar 2:56pm slugluv1313:

@ Kat in Chicago and Jshatan -- rabbit hole is right!
but an amazingly cool and fascinating rabbit hole it is! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Kat in Chicago:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm rbx:
