Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

hiya Zetti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm Bootsie:

Kicking off with James is always a good choice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm common:

never heard this
  9:09pm JakeGould:

Hello! And apropos to your tastes, today I got my “Suburban Lawns” CD from the UK. Thanks to YOUR show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm medson:

Hello Evan and everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14pm efd:

ooh, well done Jake and hello to all!
  9:14pm JakeGould:

And on a hot day like this I think we can all agree… I’m a janitor!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm medson:

The cars are a band that always sounds so good to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm chad from oregon:

The Cars are always a solid choice 24/7/365
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm medson:

Nice Ian Lloyd reference efd : )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm Bootsie:

I LOVE this!
  9:27pm Eddy in Australia:

Hi Evan and all. Excited to be listening live for the first time in ages.
Jake l've been looking for the 7" of "Janitor" for a while. One for less than $50, that is!
  9:31pm JakeGould:

“Zolar X” Boom! www.discogs.com...
  9:37pm JakeGould:

Wooo! This “Tough Customer” is good. actualtoughcustomer.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44pm efd:

hey Eddy, nice to see you here in person, as it were!
  9:45pm Eddy in Australia:

Hey Evan, you timed your comment to the Melbourne band singing about a cat! Nice work!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm efd:

  9:48pm Eddy in Australia:

P.S. Carolyn from School Damage, who was once in Chook Race, is now also in Parsnip, who have a great EP out. Only Nate K seems to have played it on WFMU so far. Get thee to the record library!
  9:49pm Eddy in Australia:

Every time this Velveteen Rabbit song comes on, I think it's an outtake from the first Blondie album.
  9:55pm Eddy in Australia:

Lumpy the cat belongs to Carolyn and Jake from the band. Jake is in about every second Melbourne/Geelong band (Ausmuteants, Hierophants, Alien Nosejob, School Damage, etc.).
  9:58pm Eddy in Australia:

Evan: Well spotted on that mastering credit. I'm thinking of starting a band called Mastered by Mikey Young. I'll take a break from the comments board now ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm loveless:

I’m on the edge of my seat wondering where you’re getting your lunch tomorrow, EFD.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm efd:

haha, I like it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm efd:

@loveless I'm getting it at the place I should have gotten it today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm loveless:

It’s good to mix it up every once in a while. Happy eating!
  10:17pm M9:

Hello EFD! Curve, yes indeed. Maybe some MBV too. Also really digging that toon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Blues Mandinga:

Hey! Listening from Barranquilla Colombia!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm efd:

awesome, thanks for tuning in!
  10:26pm ike:

I'd like to think I'm one of the world's biggest Curve fans and yes indeed that made me think of Curve's guitars. BTW Dean Garcia has various cool projects going now such as SPC ECO and S T F U but none are quite as good as Curve was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31pm Aitch:

Also an Australian listener. Lunchtime work radio for me in your tomorrow. Very much like this show, next one good too.
  10:36pm Eddy in Australia:

Greetings from Melbourne, Aitch.
  10:37pm M9:

Aitch, hi! What is happening tomorrow? Anything to look out for?
  10:39pm ike:

"Next one good too"?!? Wait, Aussies are so far in the future that they can hear EFD's next show?! Nyuk nyuk nyuk....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm Aitch:

Cheers Eddy, tomorrow will be strangely disappointing M9, at least until lunchtime.
  10:43pm Eddy in Australia:

Bodega should play a double bill with Lithics!
  10:46pm Halifax Ed:

Did someone say "lunch"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm efd:

who knew that the mention of lunch would have such a chilling effect on the comments!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm Aitch:

They might be hanging out until afternoon tea?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm efd:

could be!
  11:49pm Eddy in Australia:

I was holding back to give others a chance to comment. Lucky us Australians are here to keep you company, Evan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm efd:

Indeed! Thank you antipodes! :)
  11:58pm ike:

I fell into a reverie thinking about how much I miss Curve but I'm still here. Well, until now anyway. Time to scram! G'night!
