1977 is the year I got interested in music again (I have a "gap" from 1970-1977). And the LP Marquee moon by Television is responsible for it.

So nice of you to say! @konrad_in_brooklyn Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Passaic River Blues:

@Rob: I was in a car over the weekend coming down from Maine to Newark, N.J., and we listened to the "Marquee Moon" LP twice. Still dope in 2017 as it was in 1977.
Avatar 4:18pm TehBadDr:

For me, at the time it stared innocently enough with The Cars. Then The Police, Talking Heads, Joe Jackson, and so on. I eschewed my prior Prog rock collection very quickly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Rob Kopp:

@PRB: Indeed. The intro of the title songs is fantastic, but Venus (de Milo) is my favorite.

Avatar 4:59pm The Contessa:

Yes, thank you @Cecile, that's more like it. Just to add she'd been working for Lou Gossett Jr and said to Marvin: "Are you one of Lou's friends?" She hadn't recognised him! And thank you Sheila!
Avatar 5:00pm Cecile:

Wow. The closest I ever got to someone famous contacting me was when I was at a UB40 show in the 80s, and was handed a beer onstage. I was going to drink it, but one of the Campbells shook their head at me, and pointed to a curvaceous blonde at my elbow. Ouch.

I'm going to throw out the charitable suggestion that, unlike the blonde's, the Campbell brother was unaware of your age. It was a prudent legal decision.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm fred:

Avatar 5:15pm Cecile:

Aghhhhhhhh, I just started growing hair on my back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Rob Kopp:

@Adrian: JP also liked Laura Cantrell very much. She's not a mainstream artist, on the contrary, but a bit country/Americana and that usually wasn't JP's style at all. Her song The whiskey makes you sweeter is fantastic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Adrian in London:

@tomasz He's now Maytraya Somethingorother, and is unlikely to be getting jiggy or what have you, sadly
Avatar 5:16pm Cecile:

Well, probably late '87, then. Because I was playing it on my radio show in the middle of nowhere.
  5:16pm Dean:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Adrian in London:
