Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

Options October 28, 2015: DANCER live set! And it's the final week of our Crunch Time silent fundraiser - please make a pledge!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listen Pop‑up player!

It's my fourth and final show of WFMU's Crunch Time Silent Fundraiser, and I've got YET ANOTHER special show demonstrate the awesomeness of WFMU (and of course my show in particular!), and hopefully to motivate you to pledge. Plus it's your LAST CHANCE to get one of our brand-new t-shirts (shown above), never before available!

Tonight I'm excited to bring you an outstanding live set from Dancer! These San Francisco neo-glam rockers stop by WFMU to drop a set of punky power-pop on your heads that's more power than pop. If you enjoy the Heartbreakers, Time Flys, Bare Wires/Warm Soda, Starz, and the like then you'll quickly become a fan of Dancer! The live set will start about 30 minutes in to the show.

Now, because this is a SILENT fundraiser I won't be talking about it much at all during my show which means I'm depending on the written word to convince you to PLEASE PLEDGE! This is the time of year when the money we raised during our 2015 fundraising marathon starts to dry up, and the 2016 marathon is still several long months away, so any help you can offer would be amazing.

If you've already pledged, THANK YOU! Your support is greatly appreciated. If not,
P L E A S E   P L E D G E   N O W !

If you're not able to make a pledge right now you can help by telling all your Twitter followers and Facebook friends to pledge! And while you're at it, please take a moment to Like The Evan "Funk" Davies Show on Facebook and follow me on Twitter! Thank you.!

  9:31pm JakeGhould:

@efd: Waiting for the day the teens of the world agree that words like “garbage” and “trash” mean things are good. I give it like 3 more generations. I’m totally trashed for that garbage!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm Stevel:

JakeGhould: Trendsetter. Top shelf refuse!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40pm Stevel:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41pm Stevel:

The beer seems to be good for them!

Please use the white pledge box at the top left to make a pledge, or follow this link:

Thank you!

Don't change the subject!
  10:09pm JakeGhould:

The Royals can ram it 4 times over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm Uncle Michael:

Checking the score...they seem to have done just that.
  10:12pm JakeGhould:

The Royals are utter garbage. Trash team. I am speaking in current vernacular.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Uncle Michael:

How do you explain their success?
  10:14pm JakeGhould:

@UncleMichael: Don’t be one of those guys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm Uncle Michael:

One of what guys? Guys that aren't rooting for the Mets?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm Uncle Michael:

Keep in mind that while I'm not a Royals fan. I live in Royals country and most of the people I know, are. They have my support.
  10:20pm JakeGhould:

I hope this doesn’t turn Mr. Met into Mr. Meth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm Stevel:

@Stevel: Yeah, and? I can speak of the vernacular while theorizing about the future, right?
  10:33pm gold:

1000 used to play on the cabaret/piano stage that led to my bedroom at my old house!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm Stevel:

(Thought UM was a bit behind in the board game,)

...and yes, that's a trashy concept, to be sure.
  10:34pm JakeGhould:

@gold: Well there’s something!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm Stevel:

gold is winning the best topic contest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Stevel:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm efd:

::gasp:: I'm sure I didn't play anything horrible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm efd:
