Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Hey Clay,

Was just catching up on last week's episode earlier today when I heard you talking with Diana about Denis Dunaway - who is my next door neighbor. I ran into him walking his dogs and I told
him "oh heard you're gonna be on FMU etc." and he played it all cool and was like "oh, yeah. Right."

Sorry. I wouldn't normally but to go from groovy upbeat Clay to a 15 minute robot telling a grim stories is a bit of a surprising shift. Joe Frank is dark without being physically painful. Maybe me ears are robotist

Jeff:

I've taken to turning the radio off for Irwin's Joe Frank exercises - but often mostly because the near-constant whiff of creepy misogyny plus other obsessive brokennesses in his narrator main characters has over time broken down my ability to find those stories more interesting than annoying any more.
