  10:03am Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Jason and all the listeners. Merry christmas to all.
  10:04am BSI:

Great idea, Pi. I call dibs on steel resonator haggis.
  10:05am BSI:

If you've never seen a screamin' resonator haggis solo (one foot on monitor, eyes clenched, teeth bared), it absolutely MAKES a gig, man...
  10:10am Cheri Pi:

Oh my! That can't be kosher.
  10:22am stingy d:

reeeally liked the song about ice cold freezer and so on.
  10:24am Ahmad:

Let this run into Pull Down The Shades!
  10:24am trixienoyes:

morning jason! Nice to hear you and toy love this a.m.!
  10:24am Ahmad:

Oh and...hi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am jason:

ahh that woulda been a good call Ahmad! Glad you liked the Bitch Prefect, Stingy D!
  10:27am Chris from DC:

Great set here.
  10:31am stingy d:

oh also ed schrader is my favorite dude. weird stingy history: my sister dated him in high school for a minute.

hey jason! hope all is mega-poppin'!
  10:34am G:

@CP: As a matter of fact, it Treiferiffic!
  10:35am Faye:

hard G gifs. hard G. I will fight all the WFMU staff on this one
  10:37am G:

Gif it a rest :-P :-P
  10:38am Close Listener:

@Faye: The guy who invented them disagrees: http://www.olsenhome.com/gif.
  10:38am stingy d:

not much to it. they dated breifly. they were youngsters. i didn't pay much attention, cus i was younger and more intrigued by ol dirty bastard than the violent femmes. but he was pretty wild about david bowie, and sort of put me on to the guy in a roundabout type of way.

further adventures in stingy history: my wild sister also dated farly gwazda, elder brother of chester gwazda, who is a member of dan deacon's band. i know chester from my time living in the original wham city in purchase, ny. this is my erick sermon.
  10:41am BSI:

  10:41am Faye:

@Close Listener, old pronunciation habits die hard
  10:42am stingy d:

ps- chester is my favorite dude, and dan is my favorite dude too. and jason, you're my favorite dude too.
  10:43am BSI:

as for the "gif" thing, I'd figure it's a hard G since it stands for "graphics," which technically means, if it's an acronym, it probably should be prounounced "GEE EYE EFF" but then, hey.
  10:44am Ahmad:

The one Eyesores gig I saw was great.
  10:44am Faye:

BSI that is precisely my line of thinking!
  10:46am jtkantor:

Sounding great (again)! Happy New Year!
  10:46am kat330:

@Faye & BSI: My thinking, too, and only way that works for my tag Beware of geeks bearing .GIFs!
  10:46am Faye:

btw great show happenin, Jasome Seagull! Look Blue Go Purple + Grass Widow in the same set? yes please!
  10:46am stingy d:

i'm with faye and bsi, jiff is peanut butter
  10:47am Close Listener:

Yes, if no one had told you otherwise, you'd think that GIF was pronounced with a hard "G," but I have no problem with letting the person who invented the term, and the thing, tell us how he wants it pronounced.
  10:48am Cheri Pi:

  10:48am Ahmad:

Look Blue go Purple, Grass Widow and now Boomgates in the same set!
  10:48am Mike East:

actually, jif is peanut butter, not jiff...if we're splitting hairs
  10:49am Faye:

I spoke too soon, Ahmad!
  10:49am G:

Choosy motherf***ers choose "jif."
  10:50am stingy d:

jiff. jif. the kid dun care.
  10:52am BSI:

And yes, that Redfearn/Eyesores gig (DC) was a rocker.
  10:52am kat330:

Hi, Gəh (as opposed to Jee)!
  10:53am G:

FWIW, in linguistics our angle is that overall cumulative community choice as of a given point (currency) defines/creates usage rules. A word creator or coiner doesn't get a "forever veto."
  10:54am G:

Gah!!!! :-) shower time...
  10:55am kat330:

Be sure to squeeJee the tiles after.
  10:56am Close Listener:

@G: Alas, yes, the mob does rule, but I'll continue pay my respects to the inventor by respecting his pronunciation.
  10:56am kat330:

Hey, Mike East -- you've seen our final co-production of 2012 yet? Clearly nothing on the order of *your* 2012 "co-production"! :)
  10:59am kat330:

Serve no Pinche Gringo before its time. Nice bouquet here.
  10:59am G:

@Close L.: Any "speech community" contains subcommunities that often define themselves as distinct in part by differing language rules. I wouldn't write an academic article the same way I'd talk in a dive bar, dood. Feel free to be of the Guiff rather than Jiff subcommunity. 0:)
  11:00am Cheri Pi:

Hey Jason, what's the update on the Lame Driver's flexi-box?
  11:01am Mike East:

no, I have not, kat. where might I find?
  11:02am kat330:

Carroll Music email -- I'll resend to a diff.
  11:03am Emily G:

yeah, Silver Jews!!! Happy New Years y'all!
  11:05am Mike East:

geez...that email hates you. its nowhere to be found. gmail it.
  11:07am kat330:

Did and done, Mike.

Love that Finnish name, Jason Fillenen!
  11:10am kat330:

@Mike: And just FYI, first one was sent from an entirely different domain and "From" names as the other instance, so apparently Carroll Music doesn't want *you* receiving email!
  11:14am Mike East:

honestly, I have this issue a lot...with clients who are trying to put orders in no less.

and a Happy 2013 to you, too!!!
  11:14am Dave MH:

Love this Missing Monuments track, Jason!
  11:17am kat330:

Jotta jo for now. Thanks, Gason, and Happy 2013! :)
  11:21am Cheri Pi:

DOH know how to bring "it"
  11:22am Chris from DC:

Really need to see Dikes live sometime.
  11:38am kt:

way to end the new year waking up to some talk's cheap!
