I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  12:20pm bruceleh:

LOL! I'm just too hip for this crowd.
  12:21pm Mr Donut:

This crushes its enemies, sees them driven before it, and hears the lamentations of its women
  12:21pm Cheri Pi:

I'm wearing a beret and snapping my fingers.
  12:22pm Cecile:

groovy, man.

  12:36pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  12:36pm Hugo:

  12:37pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  12:37pm Lucy Van Pelt:

Dumb blockheads!
  12:38pm Mr Donut:

So DCE was WFUV your backup?
  12:38pm Cecile:

you got any Max Roach like "It's Time" floating around there Bryce?
  12:39pm Tonto:

Damn. That must have been crazy seeing a 50+ member jazz band on a stage made up of a bunch of English drugged out hippy looking fuckers.
  12:40pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Mr Donut, the only stations I could get were small local ones that for some reason they couldn't seem to block. They're great...but they ain't WFMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm bryce:

hahaa, tonto -- scott m and i were just pantomiming
  12:41pm Mr Donut:

Tonto, are you referring to the Youtube posted above? Youtube is blocked here by bastards.
  12:44pm Carmichael:

And Bryce, you can certainly play any Graetinger (sic?) any time you want.
  12:44pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

sure are a lot of bastards out there...
  12:44pm Parq:

My bastards block Youtube, but happily, FMU is too obscure to be on their radar. Thank goodness there are still sectors so clueless about WFMU-land that they leave it alone.
  12:47pm bruceleh:

That's men for you:
  12:48pm Deepak:

what sort of bastards are we talking about?
  12:50pm Carmichael:

My bastards either don't know or don't care. Either is fine with me.
  12:50pm benjoya:

wow, this Teo Joling thing is thrilling! any details?
  12:51pm Tonto:

This sheeet is fuggin wid my MIND. Do I want jazzz or do I want marching band?

(Mr Donut I was talking about Centipede. They were a huge outfit).
  12:51pm steve:

i'm my own bastard
  12:51pm Edmund Galt:

Now, gods, stand up for bastards!
  12:51pm Mr Donut:

Wait, what station is this?
  12:53pm Marbles:

Please don't put off our deaths any longer. It is cruel.
  12:53pm Parq:

Doug Drummersome is on the road right now, but we are going to have to hip him to this show later on. Like Bryce, it's nice.
  12:53pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

this is the 7th station...Jesus falls a second time..
  12:54pm Deepak:

whatever bastards there might exist, they can't tell me what to do.
  12:55pm Bastard:

Deepak, Listen to Bryce NOW!!!!
  12:55pm Hugo:

Das Einheitsfrontlied!
  12:55pm Parq:

DCE, LOL in a suitably reverent manner.
  12:56pm Deepak:

  12:57pm Deepak:

  12:57pm Bastard:

  12:58pm Cecile:

  12:59pm Deepak:

  12:59pm Cecile:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm bryce:

oh shit, hi everyone!
  1:02pm Cecile:

okay, I will keep my eyes peeled.
  1:05pm still b/p:

Can also get Stations of the Cross on ebay to ring your living room and mess with guests.
  1:09pm Hugo:

kijkers - that's reasonably close to my language, though we wouldn't use that term, but I can understand it - but we would say kikke - to look (at something).

hey DCE, what happened? Did they blocky streams? or wfmu.org?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm bryce:

(sorry, just catching up on comments)
  1:31pm Hugo:

I'm going to ask about the Joling on the DC++ hub I'm on. There are a couple of Dutch/Belgians there who may know about it.
  1:32pm Parq:

@Cecile, 12:29: you're elected to bring the marshmallows.
  1:37pm Cecile:

Sounds good, Parq!
  1:38pm Cecile:

Hugo, you are a prince among men.
  1:40pm dc pat:

I think I mentioned this before but VP of my org recently told me it was fine to not only stream the Rugby World Cup but music as well, so I'm good to go at work...
  1:41pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

yeah, Bryce, they put out an email on a Friday afternoon saying they were blocking streaming (naming Pandora). I came in that Monday and my heart broke when I saw the block on WFMU...but I kept trying, and eventually I guess they forgot about WFMU.
  1:41pm Mr Donut:

Yay that was GREAT!
  1:41pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

dc pat's got some cool overlords
  1:44pm Mike East:

I don't think my overlords know what a stream is...they just know that sometime when they come up to my desk, there are weird sounds coming from my speakers.
  1:46pm dc pat:

non-prof world, I don't make a lot of dough but I get all the FMU I want.
  1:50pm king penguin:

Awesome show today. Thanks.
  1:50pm J-Mar:

What King Penguin said! Totally grooving on this Donald Byrd!
  1:51pm northguineahills:

woahh, slipped into a nap after Scott's show. Bryce's tunes must have lulled me to sleep. (actually any music can do that).
  1:52pm ?:

Try going to sleep to Merzbow.
  1:53pm Hugo:

The answer is streaming in the wind ...

@cecile: no guarantee, though ...
  1:58pm northguineahills:

I was up watching non-sense until I started to watch stop-go animation (puppet) film by KihachirĊ Kawamoto, "The Book of the Dead" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Book_of_the_Dead_(film) ), so I was up until 4 and still woke at 8, so, yeah, it was easy to fall asleep to Bryce.
  2:02pm Cheri Pi:

you just crashed google Bryce...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm bryce:

my pleasure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm bryce:

don't even bother trying Yahoo Answers
  2:07pm Mr Donut:

ngh I just saw that film recently! I try to load up my Netflix queue with interesting animation, Japanese ghost stories being a top favorite category. Unfortunately I found BotD way too formal and soporific though I did manage to stay awake. I could never have stayed up late for it...
  2:09pm NS Andy:

Yes! Loud!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm bryce:

  2:14pm Barney's Corporate Overloards:

We trademarked "I love you, you love me". You're goin' down now, punk.
  2:15pm steve:

Tower Recordings collaged in a bit of this in one of their songs... never knew what it was until now
  2:16pm Rapper:

Putcha love in da air like ya jus dont care!!!
  2:17pm northguineahills:

@Mr. Donut: It's essentially a take off a Noh play about the early days of Buddhism in Japan, and misconceptions thereof. It's only 74 mins. I also like boring things. The music was awesome (gagaku-esque)
  2:20pm Cecile:

this? is? Art? Blakey?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm bryce:

  2:22pm Cecile:

man, everyone done lost their mind in the 70s.
  2:23pm Cecile:

recorded in 1957?!?!?!?!
man was ahead of his time.
  2:24pm Andrew Waterloo:

thankfully, there's always somebody losing their mind
  2:25pm Carmichael:

Look at Stan Kenton. Crazy as a loon. Made some coolly bizarre music, though, which I thoroughly enjoy.
  2:25pm Cecile:

I'm dumbfounded. I have new respect for the man.
  2:25pm Ike:

Sadly this Art Blakey seems to have bad MP3 ripping artifacts. :( Lots of digital clicks and pops!

Must run away now before the bastard catches me commenting!
  2:26pm Rory:

How come having a free mind is considered losing your mind?
  2:28pm Jim:

Glad Ike is hearing glitches too, I was afraid it was just my equipment.
  2:28pm Adler:

What's the name of that web site where you can click on the videos?
  2:28pm Cecile:

I'm just used to Art Blakey and his straight ahead jazz, Rory. I thought this record was a product of the drug-addled 70s, but the reality is even better. I can only imagine how this album played in the 50s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm bryce:

the drudge report
  2:29pm Brass Knuckles:

Is it skipping though? I still want my money back. It's like a violent case of vurping on a recording.
  2:29pm Cecile:

Also, like most pets, if you let your mind roam free, sometimes it will get lost. Or run over by a car.
  2:30pm Cecile:

my ears are so f'd up that it sounds great.
  2:30pm Andrew Waterloo:

You're not going insane, you're just getting saner in a increasingly crazy world
  2:31pm the glowing one:

burning spirits no. 2 sounds like alice coltrane
  2:33pm Carmichael:

Stokely: In an insane world, the sane man must appear insane.
Harv: That's pretty good, Stokely. Where did you hear that?
Stokely: Star Trek.
Harv (to self): God, I miss that show.

  2:40pm (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

ooh this is such a beautiful tune
  2:45pm PKNY:

@stefica - what, Pharoah played in NYC recently? Damn, I have him near the top of my list of people I need to see play live.
  2:45pm dc pat:

the Pharoah is KILLIN!!
  2:45pm northguineahills:

Jealous, stefica, I've still have yet to see him. (Seen most of the other old-timers)
  2:48pm Cecile:

how did he sound? I saw him about 8-9 years ago.
  2:48pm steve:

bryce, i thought jazz was really dull til i started listening to your show. now i think its awesometastic
  2:52pm stefica:

I found out Pharoah and his quartet were doing a week at birdland last week by accident, while i was buying tickets to see Arturo O'Farrill.

it was a nice show, but he didn't play very long. i guess he is not a young man and there was another set later. they did not play any of the really screamy stuff, alas. still, it was quite a thrill.
  2:53pm Cecile:

sounds great!
  2:53pm Tony Wilson:
