Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

mucca pazza = crazy cow (italian). coincidence? i think not.
  11:09pm rachel jansen:

whuts up evan?? i don't mean to be flirting but you make my heart skip a beat every tues nite=)
  11:10pm efd:

G, I would say definitely not. (and I think they're going for mad cow, as opposed to crazy.)
  11:12pm Andy Zax:

"Bustin' Out"! One of my favorite records of all time!
  11:14pm G:

o right, as in mad cow disease.

pazzo is when someone is acting wild or insane, so yep.
  11:14pm efd:

hey Andy! And for good reason, too!

Hi rachel, I know you don't mean to flirt, you just can't help yourself.
  11:15pm Joe:

I saw Bill Laswell in Brooklyn on Friday and he was amaaaazing. I've been researching him alot recently - thanks for playing this cut, I haven't gotten this far back in his discog. yet. It's huuuuuge. I had no idea he got this funky. Though nothing he does surprises me.
  11:15pm Joe:

Not in a bad way - I've just been conditioned to expect the unexpected.

P.S. I can email you some Method of Defiance if you're interested.
  11:16pm Bradford Eugene LaBonte:

Yoooo Evan - keep hittin' me with this crazy cow disease yr playing
  11:16pm Laurie:

I don't even know what to say.
  11:18pm G:

Don't say. Type. :-P
11:19pm Michael from the Left Coast:

I second Andy Zax's comment--Hey Andy
  11:19pm toni daytona:

  11:21pm G:

omg, it's night of the living pseudonyms! run for your lives!
  11:21pm Laurie:

I don't even know what to type. I think I'm going through PTSD.
  11:22pm G:

seriously? from what? classes starting? my last two weeks have been "heck"
  11:22pm efd:

Laurie, I think it's PLDPD.
11:28pm Michael from the Left Coast:

My drums appear on the Dennis Diken album
  11:29pm Laurie:

Is this actually live live, not recorded live?
  11:30pm efd:

i'll never tell.
  11:32pm memorex:

nor will i.
  11:33pm toni daytona:

bitchin set so far evan!!!!!!
  11:35pm G:

"peace meal" was a marching band, in an altered state, doing a cover of "kashmir"
  11:37pm Joe:

True dat, G.
  11:45pm rachel jansen:

well evan,, toni & i have gots to skip out..thanx for your company and for being so kind,, we're gonna listen to the rest of the show,, g'nite=)=)
  11:45pm Ken From Hyde Park:

This would be good music to listen to with headphones while skiing.
  11:53pm G:

That Shostakovich dude was the Joey Ramone of the USSR!

Mucca Pazza is one Mad Cow -- in the best possible sense...
  12:02am coalhard:

i once lived in camden--near the cambell soup factory--then one day a terrible hurricane hit nj--back in 50's--we had a giant ship land on our house--moved to west virginia!!!
  12:05am Jacques Detergent:

I am the most popular feature!
  12:13am rachel jansen:

evan i came back just to say "on next week's show could you play some JANIE JONES?"
  12:17am efd:

that's not the worst idea in the world... i'll try to remember to bring something from home, not sure if there's any jj in the library.
  12:18am rachel j.:

you're very sweet evan.
  12:18am Joe:

This song is making me hungry.
  12:19am Food Music:

This is hoagiefest's evil twin
  12:19am efd:

Joe, I understand they have burgers at QuickChek now...
  12:22am toni daytona:

nite nite all,,,especialy you efd,,,
  12:23am efd:

you know, here's a funny follow-up to the whole Jacques Detergent thing - it turns out I know someone in the band!
  12:24am Inquiring Minds:

Did you tell them the story?
  12:27am efd:

oh, she'd heard all about it!
  12:28am rachel jansen:

ohh evan one more thing..do you need a groupie?? i'm free..
  12:31am randy in NC:

efd, are you going to go for 11 tonight? Just askin'
  12:32am Joe:

This song sounds so -old-. I would be very interested to see the gear they used to record it. Not that I know thing one about audio stuff. But I bet that shit is -vintage-
  12:38am efd:

Joe, if and when I get the Rantouls on my show I will ask them all about their recording techniques.

Randy - you'll have to stay tuned to find out!
  12:45am Joshua K:

I was on my way into work and was digging that verbs chant as well as the music.
  12:46am rachel j.:

so i take it you don't need a groupie huh efd??
  12:48am efd:

That's a generous offer, Rachel, but no.

Josh, glad you enjoyed the Mucca Pazza set! It was a blast having them here.
  12:53am Joshua K:

Nice. a Sebadoh cover.
Earlier you played somethin from Dennis Diken. He produced and played drums on an album my dad self published. That was like 8 years ago now, wow time flies.
  1:00am Joe:

...and EFD nails the extra girlfriend points.

Actually, no, EPD.

Evan "Pimp" Davies
  1:03am Joe:

holy crap this song is making my brain crazy. APTLY NAMED TRACK.
  1:03am efd:

Hey Josh, what was the album? And speaking of Dennis - Michael From The Left Coast, if you're still out there, tell me more about your drums' appearance on the Late Music album!
  1:07am Joshua K:

Its an Album called salesman. You can find it on itunes searching for Dave Kleiner. Its like comedy/folk/rock singer/songwriter whatever you want to call it. Dennis brought in some good people on it, it was fun hanging out at the studio with family and friends when it was being recorded.
  1:10am G:

Holy cow, haven't heard "Running Away" since it was first out as a Sly Stone composition??
  1:36am randy in NC:

  1:37am Ml:

Fuckin' Art Brut . . .

It must be nice
  1:37am Joe:

He's like the Lou Gehrig of low-fi pop-punk.
  1:39am TJ:

  1:53am osvi:

It's Magic! woot woot...
  1:54am efd:

motivations=checking to see who's still awake.

  1:56am Danne D:
