A multimedia artist interested in how technological advances can enhance psychological practices, in the early-to-mid- 70s Shavit was drawn to the burgeoning interest in biofeedback, fascinated that electrical sensors could not only send him information about his physical and mental condition, but also by the idea that it would then be possible to use his thoughts to control bodily functions that were giving less than desirable readings. Shavit’s aim? To induce “alpha mood” – that is, total relaxation. Recorded in Tel Aviv, using a collection of early 70s hardware he sent back home from the US (among them the ARP Odyssey and EMS Synthi AKS), "In Alpha Mood" is a meditative piece designed to induce such a state.    1:32:28 (Pop-up)

@David yes it was in every respect. The centerpiece was taking my son to a Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge - which they won against Manchester United with two very last minute goals in quick succession. I’ve just always felt Great Britain was a fascinating place and I’ve never had a chance to visit the north of the country (or Scotland for that matter - Edinburgh was uniquely beautiful in a dark Gothic way I thought) - until now. I want to return very soon.

Video stores?
I haven't seen one of them since I worked at one in 2000-01.

Small electronics store with three locations locally (Metro Electronics).

Business started by two brothers initially an electronics repair store. Got into videos in the 80's. Eventually folded.

There was a Hollywood Video nearby, they're gone for years now as well.

IT is hard to let go, it is hard to rush into changes, but I am orienting myself to how much better this will be. I have more studio space, though I am in a rental and can't do what I want with it, but I can always find something else. And I am setting myself up to have a good passive income as I get older since after 40 years an artist I can expect nearly nothing from social security, the loft is now income security. I can make this work.

Exactly.
But if we want to protect our rights to read what we want, then getting the right people into the positions to fight for it is critical. Much of this nonsense starts at the local School Board level. It's your tax dollars so it's cheaper to vote in the right people, than to have to pay lawyers to fight the perps in court.

@William Hellfire it would be cool for you to do an official release of Radio As A Visual Medium. WFMU out it out as a pledge reward in the late 80s when my uncle Val worked for the station. A fair amount of the top classical guitar repertoire is Bach stuff redone in the 1900s for guitar. The Chaconne (made most famous by Segovia) is a Bach violin partita in D min, adapted and re-arranged some.
