Thank you for such a great show, Monica. Not sure if I have mentioned this in the past, but when I am trying to convert the musically brain-dead to FMU listeners, I always go to the Monica archives first. Your show seems to capture so much of the goodness of many types of programs on the station -- a nice capsule version of the station.

That makes sense. I love how the older songs, the songwriters did not care about who did what or who sang which song. more of a free for all.

got home while you were playing "Persephone" -- totally stopping me in my tracks (at first i thought Allison Russell sounded like really early Linda Ronstadt?!?) -- then had to look up the lyrics upon hearing your description . . . WOW just WOW, so incredible (even if hitting just a liiiittle too close to home) -- gotta listen to more when i have the chance . . . and honestly, i have no idea who i would want to sing like -- but if i could write songs like "Persephone," THAT would be freaking awesome 😺😺😺
