PB, Webster's is silent on elder vs. older, though elder pretty much only refers to human age while "old" can obviously be applied to a lot of relative time scales. No usage note is present on the difference -- but you know Webster's. Bunch of descriptivists!

I don't have my copy of Garner's Modern American Usage to hand to see if he has thoughts on the matter, but that's my go-to for such matters. His shorter list included in the 17th ed. of the CMS does not address "older" vs. "elder."

Italian sausage has a special place in my heart this year, being the first meat I ate since some tasty chicken in Jersey City, at the onset of the pandemic last March and you can imagine, it was out of this world delicious. My vegetarian partner moved in since then and, of course, no restaurant visits. So, Phillippe, sorry about the tupperware. Can you just wrap it in a piece of foil?
