![]() Morning. |
![]() |
![]() enjoying this JB on a Friday morning. |
![]() |
![]() watched William Klein's excellent doco about Eldridge Cleaver this week and i'm really starting to think he and Stokely Carmichael were pretty much on the money about most things! |
![]() |
![]() hey folks. "Be Thankful" has been pretty popular on FMU as of late. |

Jolene is my favorite Country song of all time. Thanks Marty! |

Wild Neil:
I honestly cannot remember the last live show I saw...it might have been a band in a record store in Ridgecrest (formerly Crumville) CA back in 2007 or so....in the back of a record store....it was open mic night and some guys played... |

I'd also rather feed an apple to a deer

![]() Live set McSorley! TCB!!! |
![]() |
![]() Marty Party! |
![]() |
![]() LIGHTNING BOLT!!! tried to make one out of fwd slashes but it was a mess! TCB..............LIGHTNING BOLT!!! |
![]() |
![]() This Malo cut reminds me of an older coworker I used to have, who would look up and say "This is a nice song". Yes it is. |
![]() |
![]() hola! |
![]() |
![]() classic |
![]() |
![]() I boughted the Clipping ep after hearing it. I'm sure Daveed is going to have a lot of Redd Foxx and Bob Saget moments after the Hamilton movie comes out. |
![]() |
![]() but they are a good group! and the pitchfork review of their last full length is hilariously clueless. |
![]() |
![]() I need comedic relief, I must read dat |
![]() |
![]() CECILE! |
![]() |
![]() the pitchfork approach to rating albums always puzzled me. is 7 good or not, and 7.3 approximately .3 gooder than that? |
![]() |
![]() I love Green Rocky Road but hadn't heard this version. There are so many. Nice. |
![]() |
![]() Heh, enjoying this King Missile. |

I saw Malo live with openers Eggs Over Easy in 1972 or 3 at Fairfield (CT) University!

Wild Neil:
This Jesus song is pretty funny! King Missile does a pretty funny song about petting a kitty even though it might be a stray and have diseases...."here kitty kitty kitty, here kitty kitty kitty". This next song is disturbing. |
![]() |
![]() Is that a huge joint in Karen Dalton's mouth? |
![]() |
![]() I don't know which grated my nerves worse, the Mirah or the Jerks. I'll have to say the Mirah, because if I have enough coffee, Lydia Lunch is pretty great. |

Chris from DC:
I messed up not going to see Drive Like Jehu on this current tour, didn't I? |
![]() |
![]() Jehu sounded pretty unique at the time, but boy did they inspire a lot of tight-assed young men to make a lot of tight-assed music. |
![]() |
![]() -maybe not to the degree Fugazi did, but close. |
![]() |
![]() Poly, maybe? I'm out of it. I just found out that Dillinger Four were influential. Who knew? |

The "No New York" album looks kinda cool...produced by Brian Eno! |
![]() |
![]() I enjoy your enthusiasm, Neil. The world must seem like a fresh new place now that you've left cryogenic sleep. ;) ;D |
![]() |
![]() this is from the person who guessed Green Day was a folk band when she took a record store application test in the early 90s. hahahha |
![]() |
![]() I'm strangely proud of that. |
![]() |
![]() who sings on this? |
![]() |
![]() Jared Warren |

@Cecile-I liked Green Day for a few months back in the early 90's but really cannot stand them now.... |
![]() |
![]() in high school, i was a huge Chicago fan and had no clue about the DC music scene. change did come but it took a while. |
![]() |
![]() same here once I knew who the hell they were. Their stuff is catchy, but it's kind of on the nose. Doesn't hold up to hearing a million times. |

@Sphere-Chicago is filled with excellent musicians. I think they are great but that is solely based on "25 to 4" |
![]() |
![]() sphere, were you in band? All the people I knew who were in band liked Chicago. |
![]() |
![]() yes i played trombone and baritone horn. :) |

![]() I remember travelling through Pensacola back in the mid-90s and seeing "This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb" stickers everywhere, thinking to myself that it was the best band name ever. Didn't manage to get one of those stickers though. |
![]() |
![]() someone put it on a bike, and it caused quite a commotion on a college campus. |
![]() |
![]() usually when something's a pipe bomb they don't send you advance notice. |
![]() |
![]() that Karen Dalton album was my favorite album released that year |
![]() |
![]() My favorite band name is Here Are The Facts You Requested. |
![]() |
![]() @polyus....those Bomb stickers were all over Memphis too. So much so that I thought they were a local band. |
![]() |
![]() There She Goes was used in a birth control commercial, for cryin' out loud! |
![]() |
![]() the google doodle of the running fruit synchs perfectly to this. |
![]() |
![]() @Mike - they were pretty well travelled, at least around the Southeast. |
![]() |
![]() Ah, cool! PILL is here! |
![]() |
![]() This is great |
![]() |
![]() Cartoonist Mitch Clem from Nothing Nice to Say was a fan, that's how I heard about them. |
