I think Desgraciados are from Spain. they're released by Deranged Records in British Columbia...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:02pm Cliff:

Well there's also Vaginal Penetration of an Amelus with a Musty Carrot, but that one doesn't technically violate FCC regulations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:03pm Alejandroool:

or originally from Spain?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:05pm Cliff:

And apparently Lemmy originally wanted to name his band Bastard, but was advised not to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:06pm Alejandroool:

good live sounds. hey liz. people
Avatar Tue. 2/2/16 1:21pm Michael Shelley:

Why Liz's mic-breaks are good:
They're about the music & conveying information - but they're also entertaining
They're not at all slick, but they are focused - they're well balanced
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 1:23pm Liz Berg:

Ah shucks, thanks Michael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:25pm Cliff:

I enjoy the long rambly mic-breaks too, Daniel Blumin had some good ones when he used to do a 3-hour show on Saturdays
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:26pm Cliff:

He's been a little more focused lately now that he only has 2 hours on Fridays
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:30pm common:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:41pm Alejandroool:

this show is rockin' LB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:42pm Cliff:

Yep, good show Liz :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 1:42pm Ken From Hyde Park:

1:42 PM, it's Car Talk Time. A co-worker has a broken bolt on his car's exhaust manifold and he wants to use his AC arc welder to facilitate removing the broken bolt. To make sure the welding doesn't fry the car's computers, is it enough to simply unhook the battery, or are there other actions he must take? I think unhooking the battery would be sufficient.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 1:45pm Liz Berg:

If you unhook the battery, the welding will be far less exciting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 1:49pm Liz Berg:

In fact, I would not recommend welding at all, try a laser blaster instead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 1:51pm Ken From Hyde Park:

That's true, Liz. I told him to search the Mythbuster's archives. Welding & lasering on cars is right up their alley.
Avatar Tue. 2/2/16 1:53pm glenn:

depends which electrode he attaches to the manifold.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 1:55pm common:

laser blasters always work.
  Tue. 2/2/16 2:06pm Felipe:

Yes... its We want to destroy you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:12pm Brian C.:

More car talk -- this is good: You know the "check engine" light, when it's on how your car won't pass inspection? (I think it's an emissions thing). My light had been on for months, and the car was due for inspex. It miraculously went off after I refilled my gas tank during the supercold weather we had a few weeks back, and the light went off. I think it's due to temperature/pressure. Thanks. Sorry. Didn't know where to share my info but when Liz B said car talk on comments board, bingo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:14pm Liz Berg:

When the "check engine" light comes on, I recommend covering it up with a small piece of black electrical tape. (glad you figured out a fix, Brian C!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:14pm Alejandroool:

that check engine light can come on for the smallest insignificant things - also the "abs" light can come on just for a dirty sensor on the bottom of the car
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:15pm Alejandroool:

and always remember to check your oil level on long trips kids! Nothing worse than pistons seizing up in the engine...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:19pm Ken From Hyde Park:

In case Sportsy Talk plays out at some point, maybe Bronwyn C. can host WFMU's exciting new Carsy Talk program.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:21pm Alejandroool:

love this one - the vocal melody at the end.. so great
  Tue. 2/2/16 2:23pm Ike:

I want a bumper sticker that says "my other car is a Duchamp fountain".
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:28pm Cecile:

Get a car diagnostic device. They are cheap, and you can figure it out enough to get it to the dealer. I learned this tip from a friend who manages a Kia dealership.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:28pm Cecile:

Here are some: (not affiliated)
www.amazon.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:31pm Alejandroool:

good tip - some vehicles also sometimes have a key trick that displays a number for diagnostic that you can look up on the interweb. my old van had it - a key in on/off/on again kinda thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:32pm Liz Berg:

What are your best tricks for getting your pet or child to eat something that is undesirable to them?
  Tue. 2/2/16 2:33pm Listener142985:

Easy--wrap it in bacon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:34pm Parq:

When my "Check Engine" light goes on, I tell the Hertz people about it when I turn the car back in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:34pm Mike East:

Tell her she gets a treat if she eats it all.
  Tue. 2/2/16 2:35pm BaldRedHeads:

For kids, smoothies. Dogs, peanut butter. Cats.... good luck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:36pm Parq:

I once told my daughter she couldn't have salmon. Told her it was for grownups only. Stuck to the story, and finally gave in and let her have some. She literally had the fork to her mouth when she paused, looked up, and said, "Daddy, are you trying to fool me?" I was *this* close!
  Tue. 2/2/16 2:37pm Polyus:

Sometimes the check engine light is as simple a matter as tightening your gas cap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:39pm Cecile:

Our parents were just "take one bite" and they were fine with it. For animals, maybe wrap the food in some hamburger.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:39pm Cecile:

That might work for kids, too, but remember to cook the hamburger.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:44pm Ken From Hyde Park:

My daughter wanted some breakfast before school one morning last fall. She saw some healty-brand frozen waffles and said "Uh-uh." Covered with nice butter and maple syrup, I proceeded to toast one up anyway and brought it up to her. She loves them now.
  Tue. 2/2/16 2:44pm Polyus:

We were all just told to go home, but guess who gets to stay and make sure stuff gets picked up. Glad I got LB & BT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:45pm Cecile:

I'll be here til the bitter end, but at least there's a bar on the way home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:47pm Liz Berg:

Working stiffs always win on WFMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:48pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Oh dear, I meant the waffle was covered with the fixin's, not me. I must work on my phrasing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:50pm Greg from ZONE 5:

In The Red does it AGAIN.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:52pm Ike:

I once tried to get my lord and master Chthulu to try some Brooklyn-style artisanal horseradish cheese, but he wouldn't. I had to conceal it inside some screaming disembodied human minds for him to try it.

He liked it OK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:57pm Cliff:

Thanks for sharing that Ike
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:57pm Cecile:

that's a great tip, Ike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/2/16 2:58pm chris:

Woot! Thanks, LizB!
Avatar Tue. 2/2/16 2:58pm glenn:

i've heard that chthulu is a picky eater.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/2/16 2:58pm Cliff:

And thanks Liz, enjoyed the show today :)
  Tue. 2/2/16 3:00pm Brendan:

Great show
  Tue. 2/2/16 6:52pm ?:

Second to the last song, you have "Die Crazy Girls" as part of the song title, rather than as co-artists.
