Kudos, Webhamster. I'm not surprised he did spoken word, especially not surprised he accepted sponsorship from a bank to release cross-promotional interviews on LP. And I knew he co-"wrote" "operas" and stuff. I was hoping for some singing, but I guess we'd all have heard it if he had...

Webhamster Henry:

Thank the obscure audio magpie and former WFMU DJ Kenny G! Dali, especially as he grew older, was happy to commercialize himself as much as possible, sometimes to the detriment of his reputation.
  4:04pm
P-90:

Kudos to Kenny G. as well. Yeah, Dali preceded Warhol in the shamelessly self-promoting Modern artist-as-pop-star game.
Avatar 4:04pm
Pwal:

well that commercial detriment afforded me the finances to retain a damn good attorney in exchange for a small signed Dali watercolor of dubious origin. Merci Dali.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm
common:

this is so good kurt! all of this! thanky!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

Revolution 9 was my favorite Beatles song when I was two. I feel that this foreshadows my later WFMU fandom.

Also I would leave for half an hour and miss both Eugene Chandbourne and Beefheart, wouldn't I? Sigh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm
Caryn:

I don't know if you're very self-conscious when dumpster diving. But you are much more conscious about whether there are other people around you.
Avatar 4:46pm
Sem Chumbo:

Good thing I went to that class, Kurt. Now I totally get this masterpiece.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

This song always brings back flashbacks to the crazy high school station I used to listen to when I was in elementary school. The kids used to play this three times in a row sometimes. They also used to fight on-air. Come to think of it that probably also foreshadowed my WFMU fandom ;)

gonna bring a fan next time....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm
Caryn:

It really is a good song, though. Of course the video is the perfect example of the common problem with a lot of 80s music videos: let's just chuck every single bit of imagery we can think of into the video until nothing has anything to do with anything else.
