Yes, just mentioned in Hinky Dinky zone the Quaker Oats revision, "Look what they've done to my oatmeal"....!

Second Melanie tune played today on FMU. Wikipedia: Daliah Lavi recorded a successful German version of the song in 1971 and Ray Charles released a cover (as "Look What They've Done to My Song, Ma") in 1972. The song has also been covered by Nina Simone and Billie Jo Spears. Yugoslav rock band Bajaga i Instruktori released a cover of it with lyrics in Serbian, called "Vidi šta sam ti uradio od pesme, mama", in 1985.

It was rewritten for a commercial for General Mills Raisin Crisp Oatmeal in the 1980s with the words "Look what they've done to my oatmeal".

In October 2012 the actress and singer Miley Cyrus, known for appearing as Hannah Montana, released a video of her own acoustic version of the song.

OK, Ken fHP, it took a moment but I see it now, it's a tree with gifts in boxes with decorative paper and ribbons under it, right?
At first it looked like a representation of a level of the original Donkey Kong game...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

So now the tree is a puzzle or a kit for bored listeners. Folks can copy it into an editor and put spaces back until things line up again. There are artfully designed presents under the tree, but in its current state, it's just all mushed together.

When I was a kid, I called a radio station and requested a Bob and Doug McKenzie song. When they said they didn't have it, I made cassette copy of the vinyl album I owned and mailed it to them. I was heartbroken when they wrote back to say that the sound quality wasn't good enough for airplay.

There is just something about getting your request played that is so much more than just listening to a record by yourself!
