This is a case of lyrics where singing about other people clearly works, because it would be difficult to imagine the possessor of this voice making "mad passionate love" to anyone, so much better to have him sing about other people doing it.

We needed some Martians. Thanks for all you do, Irwin!
Avatar Wed. 10/22/14 5:28pm Matt F:

I would swear that the martian sound effect intro on this record is the exact same one used at the beginning of "Fox On The Run" by Sweet.

There is a german version of this with Indonesian group The Javalins

Now I need to check Rex's space-themed premium to see if this was on it.

the great Gary Chester drums on The Martian Hop. the Ran Dels rule!

@Caryn: It's on at least one of Dr. Demento's compilations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 10/22/14 5:34pm Caryn:

Cans need to be opened all the time. It's the bottle opener end that is pretty much useless nowadays.
Avatar Wed. 10/22/14 5:34pm Rich in Washington:

there's a handy metal and woodworking tool called a 'reamer' (google with care, folks) that does the job really well. No record maintenance kit is complete without one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 10/22/14 5:36pm Carmichael:

I still have (and regularly use) my DiscCleaner kit.

@Caryn: There are many beers, imported and from small domestic breweries, that don't have screw caps.

Thanks to listener/contributor Kevin of Brooklyn for getting us to the 70% mark.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 10/22/14 5:40pm chris:

with a few exceptions, i'd say the tastiness of the brew in the bottle increases with the need for a bottle opener
  Wed. 10/22/14 5:41pm P-90:

@Carmichael: You mean "DiscWasher"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 10/22/14 5:42pm Caryn:

@P-90: true, that's why I put the "pretty much" in there. The need for bottle openers has significantly decreased in the past decade or two, but not entirely gone away. There has not been as big a shift in the need for can openers.
Avatar    Wed. 10/22/14 5:43pm Irwin:

P-90: No, I don't mean the bottle-opener side, I mean the CAN-opener side. Who uses that anymore?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 10/22/14 5:43pm Carmichael:

Yes, P-90, that's it. The red gun and accessories under the smoked plastic cover.

Next song goes out to LAURA L.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 10/22/14 5:44pm Carmichael:

Irwin, I use the can opener side annually, to help ease the jellied cranberry sauce from the can. Disaplaying the original can rings is key to the presentation.
  Wed. 10/22/14 5:45pm Laura L:

Yay.

Yeah, I'm no fan of vinyl per se, but...a great selection today. Thanks.

Now get that collection digitized and throw away that non-working Liz Berg pre-owned turntable.
