JakeGould:

KZA sounds pretty good.
  9:44pm
Phillip in Brooklyn:

Rather mellow start to your show Faye:) but that's ok I liked it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm
I.K.E. (Ice King Enterprises):

I like theme tunes in many cases. But I like them better when the DJs switch them around now & then by, say, remixing or playing covers (e.g. Fabio's occasional spin of the Finnish version of "Mr. Giant Man"), or adding samples. Could stand to hear more Traktor mixes or backwards plays of theme songs, I suppose.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm

I like to hear themes because it gears me up & makes me excited for the upcoming show I know & love

...yeah - yer kinda right - depends...
  9:53pm
P-90:

The idea of playing Hope Sandoval tracks as a "theme' is cool because it's a single artist but not the same song. So it could have that familiar, "gearing up" effect without being so narrowly defined, a nice variation on the idea of a "theme" song.
  9:54pm
JakeGould:

For the record, I once found an abandoned sparrow on the street. Picked it up in my hands & took it home. Look at me befuddled like that. So I just took it back to the tree he fell out of.
Avatar 9:54pm

If I had a radio programme, I'd open with a spoken word piece. I'd close with "Give Me Five Minutes More," sung Joey Bishop. The middle would be Depeche Mode, Mendelssohn, Dvořák, Grateful Dead, Woody Guthrie, and miscellaneous items from the new bin.
  9:55pm
JakeGould:

I like themes. Otherwise I am lost.
  Swag For Life Member 9:55pm
12539:

I like the idea of a themed intro (like efd always playing a song from the 70's) more than a specific theme song used repeatedly. Not that anyone asked me.
  9:59pm
JakeGould:

EFD has a theme, yo. A very clear theme. Hello!
  10:03pm
Ahmad:

I like The Long Rally's theme.
  Swag For Life Member 10:03pm

Long Rally does have an excellent theme. Also a way cool logo!
  10:07pm

...they talk about how TV programs used to have long themes that would lay out the whole series premise - all gone, now hardly even a tune...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm
I.K.E. (Ice King Enterprises):

Yeah, those two themes were well-chosen as they are death-defying. They are astonishingly impossible to ever wear out.
  10:09pm
JakeGould:

Stashu did that? I like her show but I gots to work, yo. And her archive doesn’t have individual track marks. So get unhappy with that so I don’t download it.
  10:11pm
nate:

@Jake you can def. skip around her show via the mobile app

Faye:

hahaha yeahhh me2
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm
I.K.E. (Ice King Enterprises):

HBO is holding out against that trend, @RRN63. Many of their shows still have amazing intros & theme music, esp. GOT. + The Leftovers is a new HBO show /a waaaaaaay over-the-top, eye-popping mega-GIFfy intro that really hammers the premise until it bleeds.
  10:17pm
nate:

@Jake I can click on the playlist and it jumps to the song, with both my saved shows or recently archived ones.
  10:18pm
Phillip in Brooklyn:

Crap!!! I had this CD and I sold it to second spin:-( good song
  10:18pm
JakeGould:

Classic TV intros still win me over. “Space: 1999”, “Six Million Dollar Man”, “Odd Couple” all come to mind… They all told you what the premise of that show was right away.
  10:19pm
JakeGould:

@Nate: Thanks for the tip. I hope Stashu’s ear is not ringing too much from us yentaing about the playlist.

I know I shouldn't, but I love TV. It's the new golden age of TV. There's also way more junk on TV than ever. There's way more EVERYTHING than ever. And it brings many jobs to NYC -- many shows are filmed here now. L.A. is hurting BAD -- yay!
  10:34pm
JakeGould:

I am so sick of all of the filming in NYC. Screw it. The whole city is like a set. Also I do not like modern TV since it’s all high-production value soap operas. Screw that. Give me old school TV.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm
íkє:

Disagree there -- can't stand most of the procedural shows where you can watch the eps. in any order. I like the modern trend of ongoing storylines.
  10:43pm
JakeGould:

We could have a debate about this, “I like the modern trend of ongoing story lines.” You mean you want your TV shows to be… THE BIBLE! That is my take on the trend in long arc narratives. Give me “Alice” any day.
  10:43pm

On topic—of the show—I’m liking this dancey set. THANKS, FAYE!

It all started with “Dallas” and “Twin Peaks” ya millenials.

  10:59pm
Elwyn:

Airwolf was my favourite of that list. I own season 1-3 on DVD. saw one awful episode from season 4 late at night.
yet it was very formulaic... and whenever Caitlin got a new boyfriend, he'd always coincidentally be a pilot and a villain and die.
