Hiya, Marty. On the edge of my seat...
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 6:06am fred:

Good morning Marty and Sem. I heard somewhere that Bela Lugosi is dead, but it was a long time ago. Pete Seeger is more recent

...mwooouhahahahahahahaha !!.....
...I was just websearching for 'Bela Lugosi' - the name of a 'band' in Santa Barbara I knew when living there that takes Classical music & puts it into unaccustomed contexts for one thing - performed in public nude for instance...
Avatar Tue. 1/28/14 6:11am ausmanx:

Bela Lugosi's been dead for centuries, surely? Martin Landau played him in ED WOOD - it was so sad, but probably accurate! Evening all.
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 6:12am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- ah - Mourning indeed...@ last we are free of Pete Seeger's annoying example that Music should have an actual Positive Purpose...boy that's a relief...wheh - back to my meaningless existence...
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 6:16am fred:

@ausmanx: You were right about that "Longing for the past" box set, I received it last week. Amazing music, and the book alone would be worth the price.
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 6:19am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Bela always makes me think of wunna my fave books - 'The Monster Show' by David J. Skal - which puts a tag on it: 'Monster Culture'...
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 6:31am Sem Chumbo:

Tidy wind-up. Tooooooo tidy. Hmmmmmm..
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 6:51am Guido (Cologne):

Good morning and afternoon everyone.

Les Baxter Soundtracks (like Hells Belles") are re-issued on LaLa-Land records as limited editions. Unfortunately some of the most interesting are already out of print.

Would have liked to hear the original "Black Sabbath".
Avatar Tue. 1/28/14 6:55am ausmanx:

fred, a relief that you liked it! (i'm wary of recommending). it's the best thing DTD has done, i think... and yep, pretty good value.
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 7:10am fred:

@ausmanx: I love music from Southeast Asia -- I have more than 50 of the Kink Gong series -- so your recommendation was rather the slight nudge I needed to order it.
  Tue. 1/28/14 7:22am P-9Ø:

@ G'mornin RevR: Hey Rab, it's back down yo 19 degrees F in NYC, did the temp drop again discouragingly up in N.Hampshuh?
  Tue. 1/28/14 7:25am P-9Ø:

[down TO 19 degrees] must hit "apply changes", must hit "apply changes"...
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 7:28am Sem Chumbo:

Getting very little work done, thanks to this set. Much appreciated, Marty!

Good morning all! As soon as heard the phone ring, I was hoping it was a Jerky skit.

I was hoping it was one where he calls the guy Sizzle Chest.

@Rab:
6º? SIX? WTF? When does this bull$#!% end? Damn you, Polar Vortex (sounds like a supervillain)!
(to P. Simon tune) Where have you gone, Mr. Tex Antoine….?
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 7:46am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 7:49am PKNY:

If Michael Jackson was in heaven in '92, where is he now?
  Tue. 1/28/14 7:49am P-9Ø:

OK but it's Jan in NYC too, this is out of hand, can't complain to our brand new mayor because everyone's asking him for something...
"Polar Vortex" does sound like a bad guy, the Marvel equivalent of Mr. Freeze
  Tue. 1/28/14 7:50am P-9Ø:

@PKNY: is that a trick question?

@ Hello Lucas: That is a striking avatar you got there. Sarah Palin in the morning before coffee, makeup, and wig?
What's the temp in your vicinity, if I may inquire?
  Tue. 1/28/14 8:03am P-9Ø:

@Marylin: Nice smile!
Avatar Tue. 1/28/14 8:04am Lucas:

@ P-9Ø: Yeah, all that at the same time :). mmm I would say -6C°... mmm
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 8:05am PKNY:

I actually have Jerky Boys IV on vinyl, found a promo copy years ago. I wonder if the first two are available on vinyl as well.
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 8:06am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Jacko's in 'The Monster Show' too - just for his plastic surgery & werewolf impersonations - allegations not even mentioned...
Avatar Tue. 1/28/14 8:07am Lucas:

My cellphone says -1c°, but I dont believe him. ORF Wetter says -0.8c°... For me it feels lots worst!
  Tue. 1/28/14 8:08am P-9Ø:

I gotta check out this "The Monster Show". Grew up on Forry Ackerman...

Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 8:44am Guido (Cologne):

Dear French friends!
How do you feel when B.B.'s songs are Broadcsted.
Do you keep along with the old cult-figure?
Or does the real person damage the pleasure?
  Tue. 1/28/14 8:46am P-9Ø:

@DJ Marty M: Thanks for the Glenn! and great transition to Sun A.
@fred: Thanks for understanding. A bit embarrassed anyway.
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 8:47am fred:

@Guido: I'm not much into her songs (except maybe Contact) so there isn't much to spoil. I do like it when a band comes and name-drops her at a show, then get very confused by the booing that ensues
  Tue. 1/28/14 8:48am J. Hallyday:

@Guido: Bonjour! Oui, et non.
  Tue. 1/28/14 8:49am marmalade kitty:

Avatar Tue. 1/28/14 8:51am bibi:

@guido, she became someone else in many ways. the 'abroad' BB is dead and homaged as so.
Avatar    Tue. 1/28/14 8:52am common:
