Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:05pm DCE:

  Tue. 1/21/14 3:06pm LovecraftDude888:

DCE...are you kidding today sucks so hard this is the only thing giving me a boost myself....
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:07pm LovecraftDude888:

another rant: does anyone else love/hate the self check machines at the supermarkets?
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:08pm LovecraftDude888:

like when it const. malfunctions and yells at you if one item is placed 2 inches from right on the metal thingie oh lord
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:08pm DCE:

yesterday sucked harder...and I wasn't even working
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:08pm Mike East:

I hate them and don't use them. I don't get paid to be a supermarket clerk...anymore.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:09pm LovecraftDude888:

haha! they're hell, unless you have like 3 items.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:09pm r i s k y:

2 for tuesday! Hey, alright.
Let is friggin snow
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:10pm LovecraftDude888:

I want to see some nasty self checkout machines.."you wanker, place that bloody item 2.5 inches left or i'll kick you roboticall yin der nuts!" ahahaheehee
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:10pm ponder rosa:

This Revelons tune got me high.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:12pm LovecraftDude888:

or like it haggles with you over Vegan cheese prices or whatever. I don't mind the snow at all but the thing is...it's pissing me off since it's cutting off some treks I was gonna do. As usual.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:13pm glenn:

i refuse to support giant corporations efforts to reduce their labour forces, so i will never use the self checkout.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:14pm LovecraftDude888:

haha I know...then i hate the regular checkout since then you gotta deal with all the fruity humans. No way out as Sartre would say
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:14pm DCE:

I hear that...but I always feel so awkward just standing there when someone's ringing up my apricots.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:15pm LovecraftDude888:

DCE..precisely.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:16pm Fruity Human:

Hey, watch it pal
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:16pm chocotier twins:

Our 24 hour Price Chopper store forces you to self-checkout after 10:00 PM dirty bastards. They stand there and watch you suffer. Cruel-assed bass-tards
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:16pm LovecraftDude888:

man, I once got a stupid King Kullen produce dept. job and lasted maybe a month, it was AWFUL. I mean godawful.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:16pm Mike Sin:

"Las Chinas" are new to me. Cool!
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- that Las Chinas reminded me of a Remains tune...
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:17pm Fruity Human:

Screw Price Chopper. You should try my store, Pork Chopper
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:17pm LovecraftDude888:

cT haha! So twisted and sick, Sade=ian. I had that supermarket job just after High School for a bit..so awful. Depressing. no end. and we had nasty managers we wanted to like, chuck in the trash mashers!
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Staffed Strictly w/ Swine Swipers...
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:20pm LovecraftDude888:

and then we had one young girl who came in PT mornings to do the salad bar and nothing else. What a life. Oh, I'm premier salad bar girl at KK I'm headed for the stars!
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:22pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...only in Merica...
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:22pm underwire supporter:

@Lovercraft I had the HS grocery job too. I was a stocker. The produce manager in the place was a dope dealer, would always make funny when he had to order "reds" red potatoes.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:23pm LovecraftDude888:

Nice! I'll take 4 sacks of reds...4 bags of blues...and 1 bag of screamers please. And some sour cream 4 tubs
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:24pm Fruity Human:

Nothing else? You sure she wasn't doing a little salad for the manager? Visitin' the Meat Department if you know what I mean?
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:24pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Tom Lehrer shopped there I think...
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:24pm LovecraftDude888:

this isn't Stiv Bators long lost cousin?
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:25pm LovecraftDude888:

Oh...that's entirely possible but nothing I witnessed myself. The manager I had there was not a bad guy but he looked like bloody Chuck McCann from Far Out space Nuts!!
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:26pm Fruity Human:

Is that show available on Hulu or something?
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:27pm LovecraftDude888:

All I recall about that month is being happy to sign off at night and get out of there...with a box or two of discounted Kudos Bars! of all things. woopee
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:28pm fred:

Hello Brian and everyone. I don't think I had heard Ulan Bator in the past ten years or so
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...ah - for the innocent days we used to endlessly discuss knishes...
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:28pm LovecraftDude888:

the only good thing about those jobs maybe is being in the Union..although not sure these days what a big boon that is or not. Prob. not much.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:29pm Chris from DC:

Fred that Ulan Bator record from last year is great.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:30pm LovecraftDude888:

ann the knish debates. I meant to say I thought most of these markets carry decent knishes these days? I heard the place in Suffolk LI that makes tons of them that distributes around USA has been hit by the Storm last year...or something. But there are other places to get great knishes...mainly NYC Bklyn...etc.
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:31pm LovecraftDude888:

and Ben's here on LI is good enough...they are solid. I don't like the one in Forest Hills that much...but the other ones are great
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:31pm fred:

@Chris: I distrust bands I used to like years ago, so I didn't go see them. Sounds like I was wrong
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:33pm LovecraftDude888:

the Ben's in Forest Hills is just like east of the "Goodfellas" barber shop!! Maury's Wigs..etc. Yep
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:34pm LovecraftDude888:

I also sat and ate in the Goodfellas diner in Maspeth and it was so weird....the food was dreadful!
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 3:36pm billybumpus:

awesome show today Brian! thanks!
  Tue. 1/21/14 3:40pm LovecraftDude888:

  Tue. 1/21/14 3:45pm LovecraftDude888:

DCE - This set is calling to mind the old Watchman's Grind show on CSB. Ever listen to that back in the day?
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:22pm fore screwnut:

Ok, these young men sound like they have lions and tigers in THEIR pants.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:25pm DCE:

Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:45pm fleep:

78 degrees F and 15% humidity. Petting the cat throws off sparks. We could use a little snow.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:45pm steve:

wow, who's a punk (your mother) is a such a catchy tune!
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

8°F - no snow right now.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:50pm Carmichael:

Seems those Walkers only wanted to go and rock and roll.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:51pm Matt from Springfield:

@fleep: Wow, where are you at?
@RRN63: Sorry to hear, I don't like such cold w/o snow. Just like I don't like overcast/sprinkling skies unless there's a hearty drizzle coming down.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:51pm Matt from Springfield:

Bart Simpson sez: "Go Rock and Roll because...well, what else are ya going to do?"
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:52pm Aurélie E:

almost 30°C in Nouméa
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:54pm Mike East:

@Matt - since you brought up the simpsons, I'll mention that I was giggling to myself earlier thinking about the end of the epi where Bart gets stuck down the well...Wiggam: "No, dug UP stupid!" Brilliant.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:54pm Matt from Springfield:

The Danish *Swede*??...

@Aurélie: I love snowy winter weather, but still pretty jealous of that nice weather! :)
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:55pm Matt from Springfield:

Danish Sweet.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:56pm fleep:

@Matt Los Angeles, we're in a drought statewide. Lowest rainfall year on record, but the records only go back 140 years, so who knows.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:57pm Matt from Springfield:

@fleep: State of emergency for CA, hang in there!
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Though, I could use a Danish candy if you've got one...
  Tue. 1/21/14 4:58pm LovecraftDude888:

What is this, Chinatown? Where's John Huston when you need him?
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 4:59pm Mike East:

@Matt - the guest star in that episode also happens to be in the studio this week: "there's a hole in my heart, as big as a well, for that poor little boy who's stuck halfway to hell" Wonder if he remembers that one.

The fog should arrive on it's own this evening.
Avatar Tue. 1/21/14 5:05pm Carmichael:

@Matt: Yes, we haven't had rain the Capitol for 50 days, which broke a 100 year old record. It has been nearly 70 degrees every day.
