Happy Monday Liz and Lizners
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 9:03am onemanclapping:

hello :)
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:06am Sem Chumbo:

Well, that was wonderfully lush.
Now this is labial fricative if I ever heard it.
Good morning.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:06am Ken From Hyde Park:

Always room for more dogs.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:07am Guido (Cologne):

Hi Liz!

I have a serious respect for Carlton Melton!
They're just jamming and almost no editing.
My last experience in a jamming band was editing like mad in order to get something enjoyabele out of it. "Always Even": recommendable album.

Hi everyone!
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:11am Liz Berg:

Good morning everyone and welcome to this sleepy grey Monday!
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:14am common:

good monday to everyone! hope it's good.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:20am maestroso:

Well, these are nice sounds indeed.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:41am Liz Berg:

Can't wait for the winter olympics to start... there's nothing like watching grown men sweeping a broom over the ice yelling at a little puck, eh?
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:49am Guido (Cologne):

Ice hockey over here had an signifcant increase in popularity during recent 20 years, since the major Cologne soccer team became notoriously unsuccessful.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:49am common:

love me some curling, liz.
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 9:50am braveness23:

Is it true that Pussy Riot is playing at the opening ceremony of the Olympics?
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:53am Liz Berg:

I wish Pussy Riot was playing at the opening ceremony! Perhaps they'll pull another one of their crazy demonstrations...
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:54am Sem Chumbo:

Liz: for me, the winter Olympics are all about spandex-clad lugers risking life and limb lying on their backs hurtling downhill thru banked S bend after S bend at 90 +mph. It is a try-out for the Darwin Awards, the really big show.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:55am Liz Berg:

I also have a guilty pleasure in the figure skating dept: high drama and bad costumes!
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 9:55am northguineahills:

I actually dig curling as well. Would love to try my hand at it some time.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:57am Sem Chumbo:

@NGH: how's you back? Granite curling stones weigh 40 pounds, and one has to lift them off the ice at some point:(
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 9:58am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Morning Liz! I will shamefully admit I enjoy figure skating, especially the men. Johnny Weir is my hero. Is he competing this year?
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:58am common:

guess i can never curl, sem. oh well.
  Mon. 1/6/14 9:58am ian:

mining the fma like whoa
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 9:59am Liz Berg:

I heard a rumor that Jonny Weir will be a commentator! EEP!
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 10:02am northguineahills:

Considering my flightcase (for my vinyl recs) is 35 pounds, and my laundry bag I schlep once a month to the laundromat is 30-40 lbs, I think I'll be find. It's my knees that our my weakness.

Dug the Proligate track.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 10:03am Sem Chumbo:

@common: how about biathlon? Cross country skiing and gunplay. Gotta love that!
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 10:06am βrian:

-20 ℉ / -29 ℃ on the isthmus today. Enough to make your face hurt.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 10:07am Sem Chumbo:

@NGH: fyi 2:25 curling lesson www.youtube.com...
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 10:08am northguineahills:

Then again, I suck at shuffleboard and related games, but I still like playing.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 10:10am Liz Berg:

Oh yeah, Sem! Biathlon is nuts! I didn't believe it was real the first time I saw it.
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 10:10am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@ Liz - uh oh, I wonder how Jonny will do off the ice? Could be really funny or really annoying. Another winter olympics guilty pleasure is men's speed skating. Apolo Ohno is hypnotic to watch gliding in circles.
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 10:13am northguineahills:

If my furlough from my job continues into February, I can watch the Olympics, but my bank account will be getting mightily slim.
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 10:20am northguineahills:

Gotta jet! Thanks Liz!
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 10:20am Sem Chumbo:

Liz:biathlon came from a Norwegian army exercise in the 1860's. Seems an odd addition to the Olympics; I think I'd prefer a maple tree tapping/sauna sitting variant.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 10:20am common:

@Sem: i don't like guns. but i love to watch skiing.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 10:22am herb.nyc:

"reign"? but today is RAIN. and since it's WOODSIST, is that FOXYGEN guy on woodsist? i think EFDavies played a song of his but can't remember if it was good or not. wait, why don't i just go to archive? never mind. -- happy new year, liz, and to all.

Hey Liz, you are the best. So happy to be listening live. I usually teach on Monday mornings (studio class) and try to listen live but students are so square--end up having to turn music off. Happy Monday! ew
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 10:32am Liz Berg:

Ha ha, thanks for tuning in live, Emily! I'm sure one day WFMU will rub off on a few of your students!

HI Liz, HI KIddles.,,lovely to be here live also,,, wFMu should be required reading for all well rounded students no matter how square..
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 10:50am because it is:

Students don't like FMU? Can't help but wonder what your teaching in your studio emily...how to properly starch your granny panties?
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:00am KP:

Love "Miles, Miles, Miles" by Kevin Morby. Pursuit of this gives me excuse to face a bleak day.

Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:37am Liz Berg:

One day I shall play the entire track... it's one of my faves!
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:47am PKNY:

Are there only 2 tracks on this Blow Mind single? Both songs I've heard so far are great!
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:48am Liz Berg:

Yep, 2 tracks, both awesome. Blow Mind were from France, this was recorded in 1970.
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:49am herb.nyc:

"they're coming"? ooh so drug-addled. but i'm a straight-edge. what to do?
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:50am PKNY:

@Herb - live vicariously through Blow Mind?
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:53am herb.nyc:

thanks PKYN, but i'm just gonna say "yes"
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 11:54am drumsoverbogota:

@herb break edge for 2 minutes?
Avatar    Mon. 1/6/14 11:56am Guido (Cologne):

@herb watch a cheesy SiFi-movie
Avatar Mon. 1/6/14 11:56am βrian:

That calls to mind a new favorite French word:
